Yep, the 991.1 GT3 and 981 GT4 had red harnesses I believe, then they switched to black.

The 992 GT3 only has black harnesses so the cynic in me thinks these multi coloured options won't be Schroth made, unless it's a configurator error?

EDIT - after all that, it seems to be a configurator error. Looking at the details of the Clubsport pack or passenger harnesses it states they're black e.g.

"Supplied ready to install: six-point seat belt in black for passenger seat."

Sorry about that, as you were! biggrin

I see the configurator has been updated and on the 718 GT4 you now get harnesses to match your seat belt colour choice rather than the black/yellow Schroth harnesses I have. Interesting.

It looks like the 992 GT3 only gets black harnesses, so they may still be the Schroth items...
I’ve had a look at this, and I think it’s a bug in the configurator, that just changes all belt colours by accident.

The text for the Clubsport option says Harnesses in black. Same for the passenger harness.

Unless I’ve missed it, I don’t see anything else that say harness would be matching colour to seat belts or anything other than black.
It’s not available under extended individualisation either.

Lol, Something is up with the forum, as that wasn’t there last night haha - I was probably writing the post at the same time you updated.

Anyway all cleared up.

did we establish if they are Schroth harnesses or not?

They will be, as it’s appears there is no actual change.
It’s just a bug on the configurator.
So black Schroth is what you get.

Just to be clear. The wide ones are not ‘NON-Hans/FHR compliant’

You can use the wide ones with HANs/FHR. In fact I do, although I will be changing them.
People do also use these without HANs or FHR although I’d personally recommend that you have one.

Thanks for that - I’d been a bit surprised when my SP told me there was only one set per side in the car as was expecting both. I wasn’t looking forward to having to buy / fit new ones when I get my HANS, but good to know that I can run with the wide belts and see if I want to switch in future.

With yellow labels?

Works perfectly (purely by chance) for me - white with silver stitching (and belts) and yellow top marker

btw - I have a boxed unused 981 harness in the garage that I'm unlikely to ever use, so if anyone wants one, please drop me a line

Car's a new daily and I only use rural country roads so no use of cruise, and I've specked AW before but giving it a miss this time... smile

No track days or European trips where you need to use a motorway to get there? Very handy in average speed zones smile

As for dailying a Clubsport GT4 down rural country roads, you must be bonkers! laugh

My HANS works also with the wider belts ... they just don't sit so quite so nicely on the shoulders and could roll off the edge of the HANS if not tight.

I’m thinking of getting a spyder (if I can)

My last modern Porsche was 991 GT3 which I didn’t get on with as I found it too easy todrive - the limit of the car was so high I could never get near it and so it felt uninvolving for me - like the car drove it self

Will I have the same issue with the spyder being mid engine?

The 997 gt3/2 is the perfect handling but all the creeks from he dash, roll cage etc is starting to get annoying

Yesterday I took the car on Dutch "Kings-Day" Koningsdag, the birthday of our King Willem Alexander, it is a free day for all Dutch people, the weather was great, the ride even better :-)

Still running in, now 975 km driven, just a magnificent car.
