How that decision is keeping you up at night amazes me. The profit on the GT4RS will make a huge dent towards a GT3.
Go sit at the back of the room for promoting flippingbiggrin

If it was me for a road car I would try and get a 992 GT3 Touring.
Depends what you buzz is on the road to be honest.Am a redline chaser and always have been , but then we have some cracking derestricted roads to enjoy it, only redline in 4th though as we havnt a road to do it in 5th.Its surprising the torque the car has against so little on paper, and that's why I like PDK to keep hold of the revs.

Today I was at the OPC, a friend of mine collected his 2018 GT3.

Afterward I discussed the expected price difference GT4RS vs 992 GT3, I also looked again at a Agate Grey 992GT3 in the showroom.

As it looks the best 911 you can get this moment, it looks verry big to my eyes at least.

I`m more a Cayman lover , engine placed wise, and overall more compact size.

So I asked for a 718 GT4RS slot, and I have one, a confirmed pre-order on email.

ETA to be announced, probably >2022

Strong rumors are its wil get the GT3 engine with the full 510 HP (FWIW) (these rumors also occurred on Rennlist the past few days)

I’d love to see it, but struggling to believe Porsche will do that and had such a huge jump from the Common Garden GT4 and on par with current GT3 engine performance.

Good god man you need a serious word with yourself, just had a little drive over the mountain this evening in the R8 and definitely redlined in in 5th in at least 3 places. Mind you I had a nice man on a Ducati to keep me company biggrin

Not an earthly chance in my opinion. The GT3 engine spins the other way round to the Cayster power units as it’s behind the transmission in a 911. It would require a full redesign of all the ancillaries and many other parts and a full validation programme to sign off the redesign. This is not commercially viable on a low volume run I wouldn’t think.
Love to be proved wrong mind you. It will be a 450bhp uplift for the 4.0L unit.

I totally agree yes

I think protecting the GT3 will mean heavy restrictions on how much the GT4RS will be allowed to be unleashed.

Or just make it really really good and very expensive with low build numbers, then who would complain ?

That's why I said; FWIW

Quite simple for me now;

If the RS does not come with the full beans, there is no reason for me to sell my current GT4, 30HP more isn't worth the money IMHO

Maybe I after all switch to a 992 GT3 (the OPC said there are coming a lot of allocations for 2022.

So there is time to make up my mind, depending on whatever spec the RS is coming.

Respectfully I don’t agree with you there. It’s not all about the power gain. Over and over Porsche have introduced RS models, most of which are sublime drivers cars, with only modest gains in power and torque. For me it’s the depth of engineering which goes into these models that makes the difference, there are literally hundreds of small detailed changes that deliver the final product.
A 450 BHP GT4 RS is plenty for me as long as it comes with weight reduction, sharper steering, better chassis dynamics especially at the rear, more optimum gear ratios, better aero, clubsport pack, and an exhaust system that passes track noise limits. (Oh and no deviated stitching smile …………..as if)
I have my name on the list and remain ever hopeful that the gods of Porsche allocations are smiling when they finally arrive.

I can choose, that is what meant to say.

All options open for me.

I`m on the list, and staying there.

See wat`s coming !

Only driven briefly on its way to PPF, so will report after that's completed. But very happy with how it looks.
