The new 718 Gt4/Spyder are here!

GT4RS hasn't been announced yet, but the rumour mill is suggesting it's expected this year for deliveries starting Q1 2022.
I would therefore expect regular GT4s to stop production this year, so the last round of allocations at dealers which would have appeared in the not too distant past may well be the final ones.
As always with Porsche though, nothing's official until it's official...

I chipped my front windscreen in the lower middle. (Never had so bad luck on brand new car, it really s.cks)
Has anybody experience with OPC repairs, or other repair possibilities?
I also complete the running in procedure followed bij the book, and now the car really comes alive above 4K RPM. This car is addictive and a blast to drive.
I saw the oil level is fairly low, just one green dot above minimum level.
I'm thinking to replace the oil for new and topping it off. The dirty oil gone, new in. Has anybody done that?
If the car has to go in for windscreen repair it can be done at the same time.
Thanks for opinions and advise.

I had an oil change done after run-in while my exhaust was being replaced. Not sure I would have bothered if the undertrays weren't being removed anyway.
For the windscreen, make sure you get a genuine Porsche OEM one with all the correct stamps and markings. For fitting, I'd find your local experts and take it to their workshop rather having it done at your home address on the driveway or similar.

I had a recent screen chip on my new Spyder … actually two chips very close to each other probably from one stone . As they were slightly off centre to the left and not in my direct vision I left for a few weeks to see if they turned into cracks before contacting the Insurance . As the chips did not progress to cracking I decided on repair and the Insurance Co. Arranged a home visit from National Windscreens . The Guy was very experienced and managed in half an hour to almost eradicate the two chips …. But not entirely . For only £ 10 it proved an excellent result ….. now ready for the next Chip ! .
On my previous GTS I had a complete Windscreen replacement at the OPC through my Insurance for just the Windscreen Excess . The OPC called in Autoglass who came to the OPC Workshop to do the Replacement … thus ensuring checking the correct Glass and overseeing the installation for Warranty .
I made sure when I took out Insurance that the Policy covered Windscreen Replacement at a Porsche Service Centre or OPC ….. to satisfy the Warranty . If you have a good relationship with your OPC then they could not refuse the use of their Workshop for any Warranty work or use by Autoglass or National Windscreen .

I was having a car-related conversation with the Mrs. yesterday (not her favourite topic by any means), as following another long trip out on Saturday I'd come to the decision that I'll be looking to offload the Spyder. God, it's so lovely and everything but I haven't been able to gel with it any more than I had when I wrote my first impressions a few months ago.
Given how many cars I've been through recently and the 'this is a long-term keeper, I promise' conversation we had about this one, I thought she'd start windmilling but she was actually supportive. She won't drive it as it's too loud for her, and the roof is annoying apparently, and she doesn't like manuals, so I've got a free pass on this one.
I'll think about timing and all that over the next few weeks. Is it 'expected' to offer the car back to the supplying OPC? They got me into the car and all that, but I won't be getting another Porsche so it's a one-way transaction.

Your car so your decision where and who you sell it to. Sell it to the one who gives you the best price, I've heard good things about Ashgoods but check also 911Virgin, JZM, RPM etc before accepting the usually derisory offer from an OPCGiven how many cars I've been through recently and the 'this is a long-term keeper, I promise' conversation we had about this one, I thought she'd start windmilling but she was actually supportive. Has anyone gone from Dunlop Maxx Race 2 to PS4S?
Just order some pilot sports, wondered if anyone noticed much difference in the dry? Wet will be large …. I hope
Went from Cup 2’s to PS4S. Not regretted the decision.. I hit some very wet twisty roads on Sunday, car handled very nicely with no problems! I think they are essential tyres for this country…Just order some pilot sports, wondered if anyone noticed much difference in the dry? Wet will be large …. I hope

Thanks! What about in the dry when it’s warm? How much are you giving up?G
I use PS4Ss as winter tyres, they're great from Oct/Nov to Mar/Apr as Cup2s don't like cold and wet!
