He’s driven it, so I feel he is better placed to comment on noise than someone who has watched a selection of videos on a smart phone.
I think at 5k oem it’s not going to bring tears to people eyes lol but reviews are so over the top these days to get hits they have to say some thing, but that was stupid. https://m.youtube.com/watch?t=0h0m1s&v=KORdvTS...

Clubsport is a must have if you are lucky enough to be ordering and speccing new you would be a fool not to tick that box. It will cost you more when you come to try and shift it.
Hopefully you are wrong, and the other chaps are right!Personally I think it helps that - in the GT3 - you can clearly see a cage in the car, and you get to feel like you're in more of a road racer. Not quite the same effect in the Cayman.
No 'Monkey' (Harris) video yet aka someone who can really drive!
Perhaps this 'old guy' will do

Thanks I thought it was autogefuhl!
Most of the journalist reviews from their track-only experience are coming off a little sycophantic, particularly Sutcliffe's, which I'm surprised at. His reads like it was written in a rushed manner in an airport departure lounge...
Noted this from the Autocar first-drive review: "The engine also lacks some of the soul of the old 3.8-litre six, which was really only a power-kitted Carrera S engine. There's less induction roar and, with new particulate filters and noise regulations to meet, less of the gnashing exhaust blare, so the GT4 has lost its renegade attitude. In fact, it feels less raw across the board but is undoubtedly a more competent, quicker and clinical machine. What appeals more is going to come down to personal preference."
If I owned a 981 GT4, I'd stick with it. Don't think there's been enough improvement to warrant a jump from 981 to 718

An observation.
In all the press cars the fire extinguisher is mounted on the bucket seats. However, I don't think this is a factory option as with the CS package you end up with it mounted in the footwell.
Pic of Bucket seat and fire extinguisher in a Cayman T at my OPC today. Fire Ex mounted on seat. I think this will be same for CS pack? Been told by my local dealer that they’ve only received an allocation of ONE Spyder this year - and it’s been sold to someone else.
Since the car was announced, despite promises that I’d be kept updated, I’ve been having to chase them for updates.
Put the letter of intent in two years ago, bought 10 Porsches in the past, live locally and get my cars serviced with them.
Not sure what more I could have done, and still no Spyder.
The whole system of who gets offered these cars really lacks transparency, as the three others dealers I’ve spoken with have given conflicting information.
Yet we all know that as soon as deliveries start, there will be Spyders and GT4s for sale at substantially over list price!

Wouldn’t surprise me if the dealer principal bought it and will flip it. As you say the lack of transparency is a big issue.Since the car was announced, despite promises that I’d be kept updated, I’ve been having to chase them for updates.

I received an email from my OPC yesterday that all GT4's for 2019/2020 had now been allocated and I wasnt a lucky one getting a slot. Supply is very much limited again despite what AP said about getting the car into more enthusiasts hands and later that night i was offered a flipped car from a buyer for what i predicted the overs market to be. A quick look on AT and i could buy a 65 plate GT3 with 800 miles on the clock for a lot less money. With them not building as many cars as originally speculated i think overs could be similar to the 981 market unless the UK becomes a very different place post brexitGassing Station | Boxster/Cayman | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
