For a BMW maybe, but no extra box for Porsche is needed. Your image is a red herring as that is a completely different car brand.
How do they do it then? I have the JoyAuto in my 984 GT4. Works perfectly. Coupled with some high end speakers replacing the Sound package plus setup, the EQ adjustment built into the JoyAuto box really improves the sound inside. Podcasts and music on a roadtrip are fine now.
Not too much of a hassle to install yourself if you're half capable at removing trim.

I have Bose in my 981 and the JoyAuto module, for some reason the sound is super quiet and if i enabled the loudness option in the JoyAuto module everything just sounds distorted. Also had a few instances of the module crashing and not then refusing to connect to CarPlay. A reboot of the unit seems to resolve it. I fitted the Mr12Volt unit to my 987.2 a couple of weeks ago. PCM3.0 & Bose.
So far it works brilliantly: my phone connects and Spotify picks up where it left off in less time than it takes to start the engine and put my seatbelt on. Took a bit of fine-tuning to get the screen contrast and brightness right for Google Maps, but otherwise golden.
I confess a deep breath was required before I removed the PCM from the car, and another couple before I opened it up to fit the video board inside, but there doesn't seem to be any rocketry involved and unless you spotted that 'TV' was now an option under the PCM 'Source' menu you wouldn't know it was there.
Reversing cam next.
