Another vote for LV. New 911 5000 miles a year for £350. Had to claim for a windscreen and they were quite happy for me to go through my local dealer to ensure no warranty issues. Settled the claim immediately.

I'm tempted to go with L.V again this year, had no issues last year midn you didn't have to make any claims.

sorry if this is a weird question to ask, but is there a particular reason to go with a specialist if you arent doing any track/off-road stuff?

picking up my porsche tomorrow and ive just bought cover with esure which is just a standard insurance company although i did take out all the extras (legal, courtesy, injury) since it was only £50 extra

havent got any extended warranty or any warranty of any kind atm so not sure if that makes any diff

Specialists tend to offer things like agreed value on the car in case of a write-off, more control to the driver on where cars are repaired etc.

Not to say some of the general insurers won't offer these, but they're usually a bit more one-size-fits-all.

Do multiple cars cover, no interest charge for paying by instalments, an old fashioned way of quoting.
+1, great to deal with and competitive

Was with Aviva special clients via a broker. Then the broker stopped dealing with them. Renewal quotes were 900-1000 ish.

Went with NFU mutual. Been with them 2 years. Have my Cayman and my daily on a multi policy for 600 quid. Decent to deal with. They have a decent rep it seems. Very old fashioned, you speak to someone at a local office on the blower all very easy. Farmers round here use them a lot,

I was with Adrian Flux for years. Each year they'd quote me about £500 and I'd get a quote of £200 from a Compare The Market which they'd immediately match.

The next year, the renewal would come back at £500 again, and they'd match it again.

Eventually, I decided to just go with Admiral (who were the cheapest on Compare The Market each year). The renewal now comes in at the same or a bit less each time, so I just renew automatically.

I was with AF 11 years, when I switched from modified Leon Cupra to Porsche with 1 month left they wouldn't insure the Porsche (well they would but for £1800) so I left, loosing my 12th year NCB. I went with LV at like £660.

This year called AF, still want £1600 for some reason. Went with LV again for £520.

I do have a second car still insured with AF under a modified policy but going to shop around for that this year as well.

Under £200 with a claim is really good I think.

I pay about that now, but that is with full NCB, 40+ and a high excess. London(ish) postcode though.

I’ve always gone for a high excess to keep the premium done on the basis that I’d only claim for a big incident or theft. If a small claim doesn’t weight it that much, I might have to reconsider as it would be good to be insured for smaller stuff as well.

Hi,

I’ve been trying to get a quotation on my upcoming 718 GT4 with little success...

Has anyone been successful in obtaining a quote on this model yet...

Many thanks in advance...

I’ve been with Hastings Direct for over ten years, the last two they have become a pain in the arse with stupidly high renewals and it’s been a fight to get a decent price out of them.

For example my bike renewal came in at £135 I phoned LV...£79, so stuff them my two cars one being my 987.2 is due very shortly...hopefully LV will again provide a good deal.

If you're still keeping an eye on this thread, who did you go with in the end R5PCN?

I'm looking at Admiral as by far my cheapest, LV are next best but they're almost double the price!

Maybe they pay out twice as often? Have you looked at the Auto Express insurance league table? Where are Admiral?

Not at the top, nor the bottom either by the look of it. I don't mind paying a bit more for the right company, but I'm not paying double (which amounts to several hundred quid).

Have you tried NFU? I don't think they come up on comparison sites? You have to phone them and talk through what you want.

I was with LV but switched to NFU a few years back as they were No.1 and cheaper. No credit charge for paying monthly either.

I've not tried them yet, no. I'm seeing what my current insurers can do first.
