GT4 RS breaks cover then...

It’s youtube - ie it’s low end entertainment, not consumer advice or the stuff that anyone with the wherewithal and connections to actually purchase such a car would be steered by. Same with any of our regional you-tuber garbage, surely even they know this. Just surfing the wave, none of this crap actually matters (just a shame Porsche and other media relations PR departments can’t see it for what it is, and throw money, favours and car allocations at these chancers). I try and focus on content from actual professional trained journalists, who have a skill that breeds an element of objectivity.
Agree… but big brands think generations ahead. It’s garbage to us but to the young kids, it may stick with them as being the brand they want in 30 yearsI’m not saying it’s a proven science, but it’s certainly a theory that’s been applied for years
A large part of Porsche’s market comes from city traders etc.
Apologies to anyone not fitting the stereotype… but the kind of person who loves the show and spunks a ton of cash on the latest turbo S, or gets a GT car for the Willy waving contest is likely to be on getting flashy car vids on their tiktok account

Yep. Did Spa, then nipped over to the N’ring… went to Manthey as bit of a pilgrimage and the took maiden Pax lap on the N’ring. Oh, someone I believe we both know is having some very special work done on their 996 GT3…. i saw it on the ramps… it’s almost done and it’s going to be amazing.
Ref the N’ring…. What a circuit…. Surprisingly narrow, and very blind for many corners.. definitely don’t get that perception from video.
Anyone going quick there has big balls. Kudos.

Haha, I took the same pic when I was there.
You kinda have to do it don’t you. Lol. dashobbit said:
Their 4RS kit will be pretty special
Will be interesting to see… Aero discs? Not sure a bigger wing will yield much. It will be the dampers that yield the most performance again… will rates be much different? Or just the V5 now?
I tried to snoop around at one of the other units, where they had a 959 and their development 992 GT3 MR.
Well… this is speculation but I’ll out there in September so they may have made decisions
Manthey tend to offer “appropriate” packs for the car. A GT2 RS kit is about 4-5 times the cost of the GT4 one, but the GT4 RS is a bit of a special car… so I assume the cost will be in line with that
They have said that Porsche haven’t done as quite a “thorough” job optimising the aero, so by that I expect we will see more than we did on the GT4 MR when it comes to the wing
The current GT4 doesn’t need more aero - you’re flat up kesselchen so any additional aero would just slow you down, so I assume it’s there more for balance and stability. There are some parts on the track that are lots safer with the MR kit, and I assume that’s a combo of suspension plus a bit extra aero
The 4RS can be done flat based on the vid but… the brake for mutkurve looked “interesting” and there are comers where the driver is backing off to avoid understeer. I’m not sure mere mortals would fancy doing it flat and I’m guessing some of those corners will become faster with more aero
So I’m speculating that the wing will be a bit more than just an adjustment and gurney strip
The aero discs are always an option (ie not a requirement - unlike suspension, which is a requirement for the wing, for example), so perhaps they will be offered too, as a “huge” wing and changes to the splitter may not be the ideal look for the car, as it’s somewhat more narrow than a GT3 and having a massive wing may make it look stupid
More aero = different suspension, so I expect the kit will be either more advanced or different spring rates from the GT4 kit as the standard rear swan neck will generate more downforce so the kit can’t be the same
So I’m expecting something more expensive - say 25k as opposed to 15k, a more complex suspension kit, more changes to the wing, front flaps like the GT3, potentially the side air guides, and potentially aero discs… as well as the usual pads, headrests etc

I was lucky enough to spend a day with a mate who rented one from RSR.
I took some shaky phone videos and put them on youtube. It’s a capable thing!

There is a good video here of a GT4 RS being followed by a GT4 MR: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGayePPMOtU
It shows the straight line performance of the RS. Very quick car.

The RS driver is who I went out with. Top lad, was down to 7.18 on the event, which is good going given he’s not had the car long. He previously got to 7.23 in his GT4 (manual)It shows the straight line performance of the RS. Very quick car.
I’m hoping to hook up with them both in September
Thilo’s MR is also weighed down by the myriad of cameras

Thilo seems like a resurrected WW2 kamikaze pilot.I’m hoping to hook up with them both in September
