It looks like it does because of what it is intended to do… go around a circuit, fast.
It’s not for those who care about looking ‘silly’ on the way to Waitrose.

Excuse my incorrect use of ‘mule’… instead substitute… disguised development prototype.

Yep, aero discs and I wonder if pre-req for those is the new design MR wheels as per 992 GT3 Kit.

As you say nothing in the front… maybe another turning vane underneath? And nothing obvious from the quick vid on the wing either…. I thought I had seen flics… but was mistaken.

KW dampers will be there… maybe 4-way now? Or the same as ours? I’d image it only needs what we have to be significantly better.

Obligatory pads and lines and some nice badging… and custom Manthey door sill plates and stickers!

Don’t forget the headrests!

Adds 3bhp

Some very nice comments on the RS, especially being a very good road car.

Yep I watched it last night… it’s a Cayman with 500 hp at 9K rpm…

So all the stuff about how it flows down the road, the balance of the chassis… the size of it etc… is all Cayman… so exceptional.. class leading/defining.
Now… add the bonkers engine… and you’ve then got the best sports car a ‘normal’ person could potential buy or aspire too.

The end, lol

In various other reviews are comments about the intake noise becoming a problem on extended flat out drives… but it’s the equivalent of a super bike… when viewed like that… perspective is adjusted.

^ That's right

But AP made that statentent himself, so no surprise.

You take the car out on a Sunday morning, drive a while, have the ultimate fun, and bring it back home.

For longer driving earplugs are advised :-) Or drive less spiritual RPM`s for longer journeys

Also don’t think I believe the comments about the road. The suspension is horrible - classic RS stiffness that is great on smooth roads but not everyone lives and commutes round the evo triangle

RS + MR kit will deliver something truly exceptional but I doubt many will be adding that unless they’re focused on track days

I hope there’s not a huge flipper premium on them. The GT3 and RS are better cars so hopefully it won’t be seen as a car to buy and store

With any luck owners will buy, go “oh what have I done, it’s a track day car and I don’t do track days” and sell them on

I think the autocars guys said it was ok because ‘they get it’

Most people getting these car initially, probably won’t understand them… and so then as you say… will move them on. I think there will be a decent size run on these… 718R/Spyder RS is also coming… in the US Additional Dealer Markups(ADM) have been falling from 100k at launch to c30k at the moment and continuing to fall as more slots are coming through…

992 GT3 is still a much more capable tool.

Ref the MR kit… as you say… only the hardcore will add it… and rightly so.

Wel, drive it to your own competence and pleasure, always accept there's somebody faster and better than you.

And that's perfectly allright with me.

You will never get the maximum out of your kitchen, your high end hifi system, your car. So be it, just enjoy it to you own preferences.

And that's is what I'm going to do :-)

I've seen that post on rennlist but not to sure if it accurate.

I'll be suprised if they going for as low 30k over list in UK. Closer to 70-80k at a minium would be my guess!

Any been sold yet in UK?

Not all slots are given to the OPCs VIP flippers.Chatting to a guy I know at Donnington on Thursday who is getting a PTS GT4 RS WP in Nov/Dec. He still has his 991 RS WP from new with 14.5K miles on it, a lot of it on track.I was really pleased for him as he really deserves one and his will be seen on many PCGB track days in the next few years.

This is true to some extent, but a lot of GTx owners are rolling road blocks on track days, so could be in literally any other car

Of course, that’s up to them, but doesn’t stop them being labelled in the same way someone with a 100k kitchen would be if they only ever bought takeaways ;-)

You don’t have to go like hot snot to enjoy a trackday. You can’t appreciate the potential of these cars unless you take them on track, but so what if you get overtaken by something that on paper shouldn’t.

I think getting pre-occupied with pace is the ruination of track days.

Having fun in what you are learning should surely be everything ... if pace comes then so be it, so long as mirrors and good humour are engaged smile

As to this topic, I am hearing that PCCB's are seeing massive brake pad wear and some are suggesting that steels and ST discs may be the way to go ?

To be fair this is based on only one 4000 mile car ... but it may be worth gathering information for those still not locked-in.

Regarding ST's ... RPM Technic appear to fit them to all their Manthey modified cars ... I guess they know why !!

I agree ... there will (probabably) be a lot of disappointed prospective owners ... I heard at Donington of a 992GT3 owner who has just got a new allocation of another 992GT3 so long as he trades his existing car into his supplying dealer ... how boring !
