but if you could phone up today and order one there’s a good chance you wouldn’t order it- ‘cause it would depreciate 20 grand when you drove home.
There are plenty of long standing customers who used to order new GT cars when they depreciated 20k the moment they took delivery. Those are the customers, in my humble opinion, who should be shown a little more respect and be more likely to get an allocation that some idiot who is in the game to create 'content'. I have no problem with the business case of having to look after those relatively new customers who order lots of mainstream Porsche product, but the long standing enthusiast customers (a few of whom reside or used to reside here) no longer get a look in, and that i find deeply unattractive. I agree that demand would ease considerably if supply was boosted, but the customers who remained after the bubble burst would be the same ones who have always supported the brand (back in the day when Porsche as a company were struggling), and those are the people hurt the most by this mindless policy of supporting social media content creators with allocations.
Anyway, whatever. I'll just continue to enjoy their back catalogue.

JWW can talk about the car for an hour and never even
mention the mechanics or performance- but talk at length about why he chose a certain colour exterior and show off the carbon door sills, it’s just utter floss but I guess someone is interested for some reason.
Thanks, i wasn't intending to watch it, but now i am doubly sure not to bother !mention the mechanics or performance- but talk at length about why he chose a certain colour exterior and show off the carbon door sills, it’s just utter floss but I guess someone is interested for some reason.

Ha, come on, share the response
Here you go. Was it childish of me to even try? Probably yes.“Good Morning Mr Stuff,
Many thanks for taking the time to submit a Porsche Code for the newly released 992 GT3.
Whilst we respect your intention to purchase one of these cars, I’m sure you will be aware that this profile of car is a limited production run which is supplied in staggeringly low numbers of allocation.
At Porsche Centre Xxx, we allocate these cars with a great deal of care and consideration, whilst ensuring that we only consider customer who we have an current purchase relationship with.
On that basis, I’m afraid we would be unable to consider you for an allocation.
We would like to thank you again for reaching out and wish you a fantastic 2021.”

Nah, Rubystone is all hype. You don't often see similar colours from other manufacturers because nobody wants it.
WTF do other manufacturers have to do with it?No hype, it’s just a classic colour
As with all PTS/individual colours, you have to see them in the flesh and decide whether you like them or not. Some will, some won't.
Rubystar was on the Porsche GB GT3 car for over a year now and I can't quite believe JWW hasn't seen it in the flesh. It only looks bright pink in direct sunshine which in the UK, isn't very often, otherwise it can look like a deep red wine under different conditions

not sure about that…the pigment and colour just did not look correct. Rubystar was on the Porsche GB GT3 car for over a year now and I can't quite believe JWW hasn't seen it in the flesh. Yep, you’ve wasted a car
I assume you dont realise I own a GT car, and would happily buy an RS and add the MR kit, if only I could get one …
Now for the banter trail…
Incidentally hard work isn’t correlated with income
You didn’t pick your genes, your hormones, your parents, or your education, or to be born into the western world. Nothing about you that you can control determines your hormonal response to intrinsic or extrinsic factors
So whether you do or don’t work hard, it’s nowt to do with you, as you don’t choose how your synapses fire
Now you’ve had the realisation you’re nothing but a bunch of reactions firing that you can’t control, don’t let that ruin your commute into central … at a snails pace. At least you’re in a totally unsuitable car for the job
By your own reckoning, if you worked harder you could get someone to drive you in and then save the GT3 for poodling round tracks at the weekends?
Believe me … not jealous of the lifestyle you’ve just depicted there. I can only hope you don’t have a mortgage or any debt too, cuz that just means more days travelling into big smoke for you, in a car wholly unsuited to the job….
Chill out eh. It’s just an opinion, and one I’m yet to really see anyone counter with anything other than a strawman
When everyone’s response to, “what car?” Is simply, “the rarest one” then at least the comments would be consistent
Slightly contradicted yourself there: the second bit is true, but the first bit isn't. Long term success is heavily correlated with IQ and the big 5 personality trait of conscientiousness; the latter being a strong indicator of a person's proclivity for industriousness or "hard work", as you say. I assume you dont realise I own a GT car, and would happily buy an RS and add the MR kit, if only I could get one …

But yes, the degree to which you have control over any of these is likely minimal. As hard as that is to accept.

Agreed it's a classic colour, it worked brilliantly in the past and there it should remain. JWW lost my interest quite some time ago, his channel is more fly on the wall rich kid vlog as opposed to something actually about cars. No hype, it’s just a classic colour
My OPC came up with great piece of logic ...
1. The people who are getting the halo cars have lost a lot of money buying and selling cars they didn't want.
2. It is therefore only fair that those who aren't allocated the halo cars should pay an equivalent amount over list ... to get them.
I see his point, but I don't see the point ... when there are so many other really nice cars around ...

I just find it so depressing to see Porsche GB policy for allocations which enables a second rate you tuber repeated offers of the limited run cars over long standing loyal GT series customers.
To be frank i feel inclined to turn down an allocation now if offered one in 2023, it just really really grates.
The answer is simple, that they are not allocating anything special to him perse.Though they are probably offering them to one of the richest men in Sterling, Scotland, Darren McDermott. This is his business partner, who has an extensive collection of cars, probably buys many Porsches, plus all the JWW ‘bunker cars’.To be frank i feel inclined to turn down an allocation now if offered one in 2023, it just really really grates.
I’d expect to see a Spyder RS and a 992 GT3 RS also feature on the channel in the future, along with a Valkyrie.
