Didn’t do too well in EVO car of the year which was a surprise. Toyota GR86 was rated one of the greatest sports cars of our generation !
Yeah - read that with interest. Seems like it's too noisy and too firm for road use.julian987R said:

Sometimes I go on the Taycanforum, all they talk about is delays and 12v batteries..
10 years ago I use to post on here and receive feedback about optimal setups, tyres, ring trips.. sad times indeed

Your right, someone take my slot off me, I’m hunting a GR86 now.. started build last Friday, gutted to late to cancel, CXX stripe too what a waste of money
It doesn't detract from it no doubt being an epic car, just headache inducing (probably). Congratulations on your build slot. Edited by 718GT4RS on Wednesday 7th December 21:19

Yeah - read that with interest. Seems like it's too noisy and too firm for road use. It’s a hardcore car. If you actually read the article in EVO rather than spouting appropriate supportive soundbites you’ll appreciate why it was marked down. Some people (purchasing the car for a particular purpose, ie not to be a daily driver, but rather an immense immersive experience) would view the negatives as a positive. As Dickie said, it’s the one car in that group that he would be desperate to own himself. He also owns a 964 RS - to me that says it all.

I read that article (and very good it was) and came to exactly the same conclusion as you did seawise said:

I have read it ! When you look at all the judges marks it got a bit of a kicking really you can’t dress it up any other way. Think one judge called it a miserable torture device always trying to throw you off the road Edited by cc3 on Wednesday 7th December 21:54

Good for you, I wasn’t pointing the finger at you specifically, but someone else who is a self appointed guru of all matters Porsche GT/sportscar on PH - i am not dressing it up, i am conscious having read the article why it was marked down on a test that has no track element to it. Put it this way, it’s the only car in that group that i yearn to own. The rest are rather dull as one would expect given it’s a reflection on what was launched in 2022.

Good mate of mine took delivery of his a few months ago - they are absolutely mega, anyone who gets one should be very happy. Proper hardcore RS, which is too much for some, fair enough.seawise said:

Yep - I agree, I read it too! I was surprised by the kicking it got, especially given the rave reviews it received (from EVO) at launch. I'd still have one though! Although not at £265k!

Assuming that is an impolite dig, I am merely questioning the noise level - which I believe would not be a sustainable pleasant experience for long periods of time … and in effect it makes the car, in time, once the novelty has worn off, a frustrating car to drive, nuisance on the ears, and all around irritating experience. I suspect it is a five minute wonder, but of those five minutes, nothing comes close to it. Never once have I questioned its epic’ness.Put it this way, it’s the only car in that group that i yearn to own.
