GT4 RS breaks cover then...

I'd be very wary of using that criteria as justification for anything. U-turns at Porsche have been known e.g. manual gearboxes in GT3s and NA engines in regular Caysters.
They may do another round of NA Caysters before full electrification, it's not a given that they won't at this point.
Agree u-turns can be made, particularly when the market demands it. However in this case the use of ICE is dicated by emissions standards and not the customer. If it was the case that the customer got what they wanted then we'd have no GPF!They may do another round of NA Caysters before full electrification, it's not a given that they won't at this point.
Macan will be going electric in the next generation and 992.2 will be hybrid.

Each to their own.
I think I’m one of the biggest GT4 fans around and but if I had a 991 GT3 RS WP already… no kind of GT4, RS or not would grab my attention unless it looked like I was going say give the GT3 RS back and get a GT4 RS and get a big bag of cash back to me.
The engine alone is enough to end the debate really. Have a listen to some of the spy videos… there’s one where a 992 GT3 immediately follows a 718 RS mule. The difference in pedigree is significant, and that 992 GT3 engine uses the 991.3 RS/Speedster engine as it’s basis.
I mean if your just swapping in and out of cars because you like to change… fine.
But i’ll be totally floored if its any kind of debate from technical standpoint.
A chap on rennlist who is a racing driver i think and has 918,991 2RS etc saw it at a private viewing a couple of years back. He said he would take the 4RS over the 3RS no questions asked. He added it wouldn't be the fastest thing but it is a very special car.I think I’m one of the biggest GT4 fans around and but if I had a 991 GT3 RS WP already… no kind of GT4, RS or not would grab my attention unless it looked like I was going say give the GT3 RS back and get a GT4 RS and get a big bag of cash back to me.

Agree the GT3T(although have heard rumours that it is a 992 R)which was following the 4RS sounded awesome. When it disappears out of sight you can hear the sound in the distance for a good 20-30 secs.

Emissions do not yet dictate that all cars must be electric. There's still some way to go to that target timepoint of 2035(ish).
Correct. However Porsche as a company are proactively pushing towards that goal. In an interview i read with a highly placed Porsche representive, i remember him saying that they are aiming to achive 85% electric/hybrid sales between 2025-2030.
You may be correct, but makes me chuckle how you've gone from no GT4RS to getting the drawing board ready for 4RS.2 already!
I for one cant wait. I think it will be a very special and unique car and even if its not, i'd still love one!
From watching one of the T50 interviews, i just hope the guys at Porsche have tried to get the very best induction sound from the intakes in the rear windows.

I'm happy to be corrected when evidence dictates otherwise, which is what's happened with the GT4RS and the mules
There's no evidence as yet to suggest the GT4RS will be 'unique' or 'last of the line', so I'm open minded. Especially as I heard a whisper that there's potentially another round of NA Caysters to come in the future and Porsche have not commited a date to the all-electric replacement (unlike the Macan).

Technically it is unique already, as it is the first one and there is no evidence of a gen 2! Agree though, who knows what they will be building a few years time. If this one is anything to go by we've got a long wait in front of us before we see any mules of a gen 2 doing laps at the ring!

Yuk centre locksI popped into my dealer earlier this week and asked if there was any chance of GT4RS.
Despite owning five Porsches of various ages and categories, the points system reply made it quite clear that I had no chance.
Depending upon price, maybe a depreciated collectors GT3RS is the way to go ?

The positioning of the GT4 RS in the hierarchy is going to be the most interesting aspect.Despite owning five Porsches of various ages and categories, the points system reply made it quite clear that I had no chance.

RS is reserved for ‘As fast and as good as we can possibly make it’ but we know this won’t be true, because the 992 GT3 will be faster.... so then what’s the point of an RS GT4... unless it’s a super limited numbered run out... in which case it could well be a super duper thing.
And then there’s the pricing for a super duper RS .... Clearly there will be a price gap to fill between 718 GT4 and 992 GT3.... but are people really willing to spend between base list of range between 80k-135k... you’ll be well into 991.2 GT3 money and that will be faster.... as would a 991.1 RS (albeit 4 or 5 years)
It’s going to need to have the kitchen sink thrown at it:
-50kg
992 double wishbone front end?
Revised multi-link rear end?
Carbon fibre Body panels?
450ps

Yes, a 997.2 GT3 RS Despite owning five Porsches of various ages and categories, the points system reply made it quite clear that I had no chance.
