Over Revs Report with 2nd Service

It's not the franchises that are the problem - it's Porsche own dealerships; Reading, Guildford, West London, etc that charge £1600+ for a £975 service, want 2-days for it, and need months advance notice for a courtesy car.

Correct. i challenged Porsche Retail Group by email today, and got a call back.
People know what to do next time.... upto the individual in the end.

The over revs are checked but dont feature on the report. the OPC will have it recorded so you can just ask them to email you to confirm rev ranges. did you extend your warranty? if you did then this confirms your car hasnt been into rev range 3. if they offered you the warranty then i guess that also confirms it. best get an email from the OPC in any event, that's what i've asked for.

I've gone back to the OPC and as they are NOT part of the fixed service pricing they can't do anything about it.
So lesson learnt always try to find an OPC in the fixed service pricing scheme.

If a car hasn't been over-revved it hasn't been over-revved.

A piece of paper saying "the car hasn't been over-revved" sounds about the equivalent of an ad' saying "one careful lady owner, never raced or rallied"!

Thanks, hadn't spotted AW10's link to the participating centres download. But it begs the question why are some centres allowed to not participate and do their own thing? A notable non-participant being Porsche's supposed flagship centre, Reading! This really tarnishes the brand IMO. And it's sod's law that my own centre (where I bought the car from) doesn't participate and there's no participating centre in a practical distance to use instead. Oh well, it's out of warranty next year so I'll vote with my feet and start using an independent.

You can always negotiate the price with an OPC - I got mine to go about 20% lower by showing them prices of a local indie.

Porsche Retail Group Centre dealerships say that their runnings costs are higher... so trickles into the price of items such as workshop.
Their benefits for being PRG, is that they are the larger centres with more cars, larger allocations etc.

Obviously it's all about maximising profits.

Its a market place at the end of the day.... so people can choose the price they pay... for some of us that means travelling further to make a saving, or using an approved indy....depends what that means to you.

You can travel a fair distance for £600 . Mine was in for 2 days and they gave me a loan car, apart from a small investment in time the saving would be worth it wouldn't it?

My 981, bought brand new, will have its 8th birthday this year and need another service.

Depreciation to date - £20,000

Service costs to date, all at OPC - £2,000

Puts things in perspective.

Yep - this was the point all along. My 3 closest OPC are all PRG... so i'd have to travel quite far, at a fair amount of inconvenience, to go to a participating centre... and then they don't know me or my car, and who knows what the booking situation might have been.
