Never mind. Here’s one for you Andy and it’s fallen to 26k!

Oh. Hang on a minute, it’s a 981.
Just read his advert text... "One of the very last standard Cayman V6 produced before they went onto the V4 Turbo on the new 718"

Obviously a car head on him.

Couldn’t disagree more. I had a Cayman T as a courtesy car while my 911 was getting some work done and I thought it was great. The low end burble and high end rasp are very different from the 6 cylinder cars but sound good in their own right.

However if people want to bash them then go right ahead, it’ll just make them cheaper for me to snap up as a track day toy.

There’s no wrong... just preference and what the individual wants from a Cayman. I certainly wouldn’t call the 718 F4T a bad car, far from it. If my neighbour test drove on said they’d test driven one, loved it and it was incoming I’d be happy for them. I had a 718T courtesy car from Colchester OPC a few weeks ago when my 981 CS was in for a service.
I noticed more where the improvements where made of my car than the 718 Boxster and 718 CS they’d given me before but, for me, it wasn’t enough to make me want one.
It’s effective but just not how I like my fun served up.
Someone will be along to tell me I’m wrong and it’s a great car... thing is, I’ve never been one who has said it’s bad, crap or whatever... just not what I want.

Well, for a four cylinder "disaster" Porsche sure sold a lot of cars, seemingly more 718s than 981s in some years:

And I'm sure Mercedes will follow suit.

Presuming Covid-19 doesn't kill the market entirely, of course !

Well it's definitely the best looking car out there for the money....by miles.

No problem with the looks, Porsche did a decent visual update.

Ditto all of that... at the time I bought I could’ve got either. I waited until the 718 came out but there was no inner struggle. I love my 981.

The Carrera S’s are a nice wheel... I love my wheels but being diamond cut they are starting to go the way the go, not even kerbed. I’d lose the Pirelli’s first though, never liked them on past cars.
