There's also a silver private car in Norfolk on autotrader that's gathering an awful lot of dust as well.
Originally up at £55,900 - no chance, even at current price.

Been watching 981 GTS’s for a couple of months now, some asking prices are ambitious to say the least.

If 981GTS prices are dropping, then it’s a reflection of the market, and everything else below and around will also be equally compressed.

No 4.0 GTSs have arrived yet, so it can’t be oversupply that is the issue. I suspect it is general market sentiment and uncertainty. And, if I’m correct, then it could be a rough ride for all prestige cars.

On the other hand, if the Coronavirus issue can be resolved, and the sun comes out, we may see the ‘feel good’ factor reappear and prices firm up again.

The used car market is being very kind to Porsche at the moment.

  • Decent cars
  • Decent dealer support
  • Decent prices compared with Ferrari/McLaren/Lamborghini
  • Few viable competitors at this level in the "practical roadgoing sports car" market.

Not that Buffoon MAXREVS is it? Videos of him wandering around parks and stations wondering if he should order this or that on the coat tails of the influencers looking for likes.
Yep, that’s it. Ashamed to say that’s the first I’ve heard of him. And it will be the last.

Do buckets matter? It’s a serious question. Worth the investment?

I’ve a deposit down, not bought personally from that OPC but ex bought two new cars (though didn’t count when enquired about GT4/Spyder) and had bought a Cayman used elsewhere in OPC network. Received lots of pre Corona virus spam emails from OPCs about GTS so don’t think they will be too difficult to get.

Risk of dying from respiratory illness is significant possibility, I work in healthcare so if I make it to summer I’ll celebrate with GTS. If I get a build slot this year...

Originally up at over 58k if you been looking long enough, he's dropped it 2 or 3 times now, but I agree, even at current price, no way. New 4.0 at 64k makes used ones much less than he wants imo. The one at brooklands was offered to me today for 50k with 2 years warranty, but that is still to much for a 6 year old Cayman, and I'm not the only one who thinks so, as it's still there.

Kind of see where you're coming from, but if a private seller needs the money for whatever reason, then they'll have to take the hit. As for dealers, some just can't hang on long enough till its a zillion year old classic, as they are in the business to sell cars. If they don't sell for long enough, they will probably lower the price. Only today Brooklands OPC rang me ref a 981 GTS in red, offering at a reduced cost. So with this in mind, the buyer can, under the right circumstances, command the value of something. Ultimately, if stock is not moving, or a private seller can't sell, then the price will probably be dropped.

Just make your best offer and when they scoff tell them that's fine and they can sell it to the queue of lads lining up to buy it. Every business comes down to cashflow eventually and I suspect some dealers easy credit lines are about to partially seize up.

Andrew Frankel has done a mini review of the 718 GTS 4.0.
Prefers it to the 718 GT4....and Harris agrees... on all fronts.

I would only spec buckets if you want them, not for future value. I'm not sure you would get your money back on trade in (unlike GT4/Spyder).

Yes, it's just I was surprised that literally none of the 981 GTS had them when I was snooping around. I'd figured they must be [part of the price justification (but they aren't) like the Cayman R etc.

Agree, unless you specifically want buckets, like a T or Turbo/Turbo S it wont particularly add value to a GTS ££ unlike a GT Porsche.

Anyone seen any 981S advertised with the exact same spec as a GTS (which I understand is possible).

Be interested what sort of price differential there is...lots I expect!

Actually not very much at all, Porsche aren't falling over themselves with a glut of unsold F4T units now are they?

For the vast majority, not the PH experts, the performance of the F4T in combination with the awesome 982 chassis is a fantastic platform.

...and I'll say it again, the GTS 4.0 will not be mass produced/mainstream, for a number of reasons.

There is the odd one or two out there, there was a £10k price difference a couple of years ago.
