Is anyone who is first on their OPC list for a Cayman still waiting for their car to complete build. I feel my OPC are having a laugh and before I engage with the Centre Principal it would be good to have some ammunition. I am allegedly first at my OPC in respect of a build slot and was advised in late May that my car would complete build on 23rd June and arrive at the dealership around now. They told me yesterday my car is still in production and wont arrive until the end of this month. They can't provide any explanation as to why the build date has slipped.

Don’ t you think that Covid might have something to do with it ? Production is not running at 100% and car ferry sailings are also impacted as the crews cannot disembark at some ports without going into isolation. So it must be a logistical nightmare getting cars from factory to dealer.

I think everything is taking a lot longer at the moment, I think everyone’s cars are behind schedules advised at the end of May. Porsche’s sales and vehicle management isn’t the greatest, last year with my Macan S the tracking system still said the car was in the port in Germany when it arrived on the back of a transporter at the dealer.

I’m in a similar position, I’ve been waiting since January, so a little bit longer, is no great shakes to me, a firm delivery date would be good so I can get it booked in for PPF though. On the positive side there will be considerably more GT4’s delivered this year than GTS 4.0, meaning you are unlikely to one on the road before yours arrives.

My order went in Feb 11th - looking like delivery in the week starting 10th Aug. pgamble and 130R (who are getting theirs next week) both ordered from same OPC (Reading) as me not that much before me (I think). It's annoying but I'm choosing to be calm about it. Once it's here I won't care.

My build slipped from May, revised completion promised completion July 6th, then left the factory 1st July. Car was at Emden last week and was told on Thursday it should be with by end of next week. I guess the shipping logistics are totally out their control so I’ll believe it when I see it.

Base price seems up about £400. Latest config added about £2k. Not sure what the major difference is (no itemised cost comparison saved), but bucket seats seem more expensive than I recall @ £ 3.7 k
If it's the same as the GT4, the base price is up a few hundred and several options are up a bit in price too. To replicate my GT4 now it would be around £800 more expensive. Not sure why a GTS 4.0 would go up £2k though - that's a massive jump!
Yep, less (no tyre gunk) is more for 2021 models. Plus when I imported my code the option to have satin black headlight washers is no longer available, gloss black only.

Late/delayed builds may depend on options chosen as the supply chains must still be up in the air re. COVID. It's not necessarily first ordered first received...

Thanks everyone for your thoughts. I guess I need to be relaxed about it. Perhaps the leather for the steering column casing has caused the delay lol

Probably not helpful (sorry..), and I know you were being slightly factious, but mine has leather steering column and due next week..!
Ordered on 17 Jan (when first announced) and build date of 18th June. I reckon only a weeks delay from what I’ve been told.
With any luck, it’s currently in Birkenhead docks getting ready to ship to Belfast (fingers crossed).

Leather steering column a tasty option btw - great choice 👊🏼

Excitement. Just had email from OPC saying my car is in the UK and I need to setup my Porsche Car Connect. Not long now.

Sad now. OPC just said it could be 14 days before it is ready to pick up. Apparently it is still in docks at Sheerness. Customs ?

Mines not at the dealer yet frown looking at mid next week for pickup after PPF and ceramic coating.

First uk road test review, first one I’ve seen with UK number plates, looks very promising.

My car appears to be stuck in Emden.

Presume you've linked to wrong video, as that's clearly not a UK car, nor a road test. Plus the guy reviewing seems to have missed the whole point - the GTS isn't trying to be a GT4, it is its own entity. Still, good to see that he approves/enjoyed it.

Not the video, that’s from the launch, the article is a UK review and pictures are of a right-hand rive 20 plate Cayman in Python green.

I've just received my online Porsche account email with the VIN, so I'm assuming it must be at the dealer now!
