Hi,

Like many of you, all excited about delivery of my new cayman ... first Porsche for me and went for Miami blue with gts interior with red stitching.... can’t wait

I just received my Porsche connect log in and VIN

Does anyone know how long it generally takes from issuing of the VIN to the car being ready for collection ?

Can I just ask at what stage did you get the Porsche Connect and VIN, is your car actually at the OPC or did you get it before. Thanks.

I got a call telling me the car was in the UK (in docks). It was there about a week before it got to OPC. With that first call, I received emails for Porsche Connect etc so I could set up car pairing etc. They provided VIN etc.

Man, the silence is killing me :-)

Are you happy ? Did it arrive perfect ? Have you had a good drive in it yet ?

I'm getting mine tomorrow - very anxious :-(

Great car. Running it in but plenty of torque and even short shifting it is a quick thing with lovely balance. Exhaust is good on (part) full attack but civilised when sports exhaust is off. I was lucky to get a 991.2 GT3RS which is mad on the track but too much for the road when pressing on. I don't feel short changed by the Boxster GTS and can see it being the default for day to day fun.
I have had 997.1 GT3, 991.1 GT3, have a 993 4S and can honestly say that in 500 miles the last thing I have been thinking about was the gearing! Buy it, drive it and have some fun!

You won't be disappointed.

Many thanks, super to hear.

Have a mixture of excitement and anxiousness. Probably won’t sleep tonight :-(

Hi, I have only received the Porsche connect, no contact from the OPC. I guess my question was to understand how long it generally took from receiving the Porsche Connect invite to when you are likely to be able to collect the car

Just got mine home from Reading. Coincidentally I kept swapping places on the road with someone in a rather nice 718 GTS 2.5 in what I think was Agate Grey. Shared an enthusiastic smile at the lights on the A33.

WIsh I'd seen yours today. My son saw a Python Green Boxster GTS4 driving down the back with trade plates. Love it.

It's all personal taste but that red roof and black wheels combo looks "unusual".

Looks cracking! Painful for me - mine is at Reading but collection deferred to next week having planned for a collection today. How’s the engine sounding?

That looks cracking - congratulations! What interior have you gone for. Hopefully not to long for mine to arrive at my OPC

I went for the full GTS carmine red. Like it a lot. Steering wheel feels smaller than the last one. Lovely in the hand.

So, for those that have got theirs or about to take delivery, some thoughts. As with all Porsche’s, probably all normal, but I’m only on my second, so let me know your thoughts.

When pulling away at any speed in any gear, there appears to be a resonance sound, not quite a groan, but something like that. It increases in pitch with engine speed and as soon as you remove the throttle pressure it disappears.
I appear to be getting a rumble sound at some points when going slowly which is a lot like the noise my children get in the Mazda2 when they go near the sides of the road (it’s an audible warning on their car). Might be over slightly rougher road surfaces. Could almost believe this and above were synthesised sound but I can’t believe Porsche are doing a BMW on us.
Lots of other noises - some of which are probably just things bedding in and others things we’ll all get used to.

Nav volume - even at max of 11, way too quiet to hear with roof down. Never had that issue with 981s. Have the Bose and that goes very loud - so just odd nav volume is so quiet. I have turned off speed variable volume as well.

She gets very warm even though I’m not taking her over 4000rpm for first 2500 miles - far more so than the 981s. Fans also stay on for a longish time (side ones) which wasn’t the case on the old one.

Love the sports exhaust - didn’t have one before.
Torque is very noticeably different from 981s - takes off in any gear at 2000rpm. Probably would a lot lower but don’t want to labour the lovely new engine.

Love the downshift blips. I’m so shallow.

It also looks so much better in the flesh that the pictures. I love the front bumper / intakes and the rear - yummy.
Exhausts look awesome - bigger than expected and slightly surprised that they are chrome rather than jet black which I thought they’d be. Glad that’s the case.

I’ve so missed having gears. Just going up and down like a mad man, not because I need to, just because it’s fun. Also, because the gears are in my view fairly short beyond 3rd, you do find yourself changing up and down a lot on country roads between 40 and 70 (dual carriageways of course). I know you’re not wringing the life and performance our of it, but who cares, it’s a lot of fun.

All in all, delighted - just keen to see if my experiences about are consistent with others.

It sounds great, the PSE is louder than the dealer expected. I think it will have a proper bark when I can wind it up past 6k.

There’s a lot of road/tyre noise with the hood up, but that may be because my last 2 convertibles have had metal roofs not cloth.

I really like the Carmine interior pack, had it on my last GTS but opted for Crayon this time. I can't quite make out from your picture which tyres yours has come with.

Collected my car yesterday and was eally well looked after by Alex and the Edinburgh sales team. The prevoius posts about how the car drives and handle are spot on. For those of you who are taking delivery of their cars - it's worth the wait. Will try to get some better pictures uploaded when the weather is better.
