Hi Mark,
I remember yours! Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
I know another fella that bought one, who modded it and used it for thee years and 30k+ miles.
He sold it to a trader, who gave him £38k and exported it to Japan!

KMPowell was the worst though if I remember correctly. He spent months pondering and torturing himself over residuals, before buying the thing.
…..Only to hardly drive it, then panic sell almost immediately frown

At least you enjoyed the positives of the ownership experience, suffering just normal expected new car depreciation smile
I remember him too! Though that poor bloke whose white one went after OBD theft when they were in the early slump was about as bad, if not worse.

Mark, yes I remember you selling yours. I looked at buying mine back when it popped up at a local dealer. Some guy bought it then traded it in for a Cooper Clubman after just nine months and must have lost over 10-15k on it! But I met the third owner. Oddly despite it bouncing round the UK dealers it always ended up in North East London.

Great car, great package. Though my BGTS feels as special to me and loving every minute, just back from 2,000 mile road trip through Scotland in it.

Loved our Scotland trip. Stunning country and we were lucky to have fantastic weather too.

Only shame was I took the worst of my most recent cars. M135i. Still good but not a patch on the others I’d wished I’d take instead.

After selling my M6 and 997 Turbo I am now ready to buy a GTS 4.0. Few questions as buying something in demand is not something I normallly do?!

- Assuming they will sell me one is there any discount? Is it acceptable to call round a few OPC to get the best deal?
- What’s the test drive situation? Is 24hrs possible?
- I’m expecting most will say delivery next year. Any idea what the average availability is?
- Any news on whether there are any price hikes due?

A discount is possible. 1.5 % was my best offer for a GTS 4.0 but I needed to work to get it. Test drive, had car for 2 three hour slots. Never tried to get it to 24 hours. My car is not due until 2022. Not sure re any price hikes. Likely first registration will rise if car arrive after April.
Re discount, it is weighing up the value of a discount as against getting your car locally and building up a healthy rapport with your local OPC. I got less discount from my local dealer but felt it was better to buy locally and take small discount reduction but have the comfort that if I get a problem buying locally will give me better service. Margins are so small but £1k off is better than nothing.

So an OPC purchased it from the seller via CC? Seems a strange way to do things but these are strange times. On that spec £81k is overs isn't?

I'd say for the £67K it was a hell of a deal spec wise...i was surprised the bidding didn't go higher originally.

Presumably the warranty would have transferred over to the new buyer anyway? if so, then i can't see any rationale of it now being at £81K other than it was woefully undersold in the first place and maybe 80'ish is fair. The colour will command a premium. Either way, the seller must be a bit peeved off. Crazy times.

At £67k that seems like a no brainier for an OPC to buy and resell.

Personally not completely sold on the CC concept as a private seller as you’re wholly dependent on who happens to be looking for the short period of time they are advertised - and only a relatively small % of buyers in the market have even heard of it.

Brooklands are my local Porsche Centre. Their used car prices are always at the highest end.

Very competitive service pricing though (compared to Reading and the ones in London I was checking)

I remember tail end of last year beginning of this Porsche Swindon had a Gentian Blue in pretty much my spec at £76k up at £67k and it was around for well over a month...... that now seems like it was a steal. I suspect this current madness to end though to be honest!

I think that is very, very unlikely, unless we have a flu pandemic or some other catastrophe that sends the economy into a spiral dive.
I'm just working my way through this thread slowly after finding a GTS 4.0 build slot and putting the deposit down yesterday.

I haven't got any further forward from Jan 2020 yet to see if others have made a similar reply since, but I must say this was a spot on comment!

Interested to know when you were told to expect delivery. Another thread on here is suggesting a significant delay, possibly 2023!

I’ve been told Q1 possibly Q2 2022 for a Cayman GTS. Deposit placed 2 weeks ago. Boxster, which I considered initially was Q3 2022.
