I thought dual zone was standard on the 4.0???
Nope. Cruise control, folding wing mirrors and also a dimmable interior mirror, none of them are standard... It leaves a sour taste in the mouth that you have to add £1500 of extras that you would expect in a car of half this price.

It really isn't clear what is standard on the car, I had similar thoughts on the air con and climate.
I thought dual zone was standard on the 4.0???Only parking sensors changed recently and are now included as standard (no camera though.)
My theory is that it's all a way to get the list price down to look competitive and attractive to buyers, then you have to add a bunch of options once you've committed. Very clever! My approach is to add almost every option available to get what I think is the true spec and price of the car, then cut it back to a level you're comfortable with by removing stuff you don't need.
This is all assuming you're planning on buying and keeping the car for a while, rather than taking out a PCP and handing it back.

There are some advantages to having fewer standard options. It means you don't get things you specifically don't want, in my case keyless go and lane change assist. With most other cars you are stuck with them.
I doubt anyone would complain about the GTS interior, two-zone climate, cruise (although I didn't spec it) and electrically folding / dimming mirrors being standard though.

It is crazy some of the stuff that should be standard on a car of this budget.
Heated exterior mirrors are one thing I’ve always missed, are the electric folding ones also heated? Is an absolute pain if you park outside in winter then forget to clear them...

Agreed - I also did without cruise, but the lack of climate and dimming mirrors does seem exceptionally mean on a car of this price.I doubt anyone would complain about the GTS interior, two-zone climate, cruise (although I didn't spec it) and electrically folding / dimming mirrors being standard though.
The extra for the GTS interior also bugged me - it is to me a really significant part of the identity of the car (although can completely understand others feeling differently). Should have been a no-cost option IMO.

Why is that I wonder. If it is a GTS then it should have the interior as standard and a no-cost option to delete it. Surely that is part of it being a GTS (along with the other non visible parts). Strange concept to do it in this fashion (and possibly unique to Porsche in what other manufacturers deem a "special" edition) but it's a way of making money so you cannot blame them for trying to maximise their profits.oscmax said:

I think there is making a profit and taking the piss out of a customers, some of the options on the GTS hop, skip and jump over the line IMHOCurrently I'm thinking ticking the GT Silver, cruise and dual zone climate boxes. Still undecided on GTS interior package. What I really need is to spend a day sitting in different spec cars!
I've found it useful looking at the Approved Used cars, you can see the spec of each car and get high def pictures of the interior.

Thanks for the feedback to my prior post, indeed all very confusing! I wouldn't pay £500 for dual zone climate, but would to get climate on a £75k car!
Colour also frustrating. Love red, prefer Carmine but of course thats £1600 extra!
What box do I have to tick for an alcantara steering wheel? I can't find that. Also how much will it cost? Probably twice what I would pay....!
