I’ve ended my interest in the 718 GTS as I’m more than happy with my 981GTS and the wedge I’ll be saving.

If no GT4 I’m off to Aston Martin...
not tempted by the 981 GT4?

Looks like I have a likely May build date.

JasonSteel I want PDK. The 981 GT4 is a very desirable car. I’ve been told PDK will arrive later this year?

My OPC told me yesterday that PDK for the 718 GT4, Spyder and GTS 4.0 will definitely not be available this year

Just got the call from dealer (Guildford)myself about securing a slot - told October for PDK - and have agreed to speak in July about this.

Mixed emotions really, sold my 981 CS in anticipation of the new 6 cylinder and bought Tesla Model 3 performance in interim. New GTS will sound nice but may feel slow in comparison!

Residuals have already been hit when they announced the release of the new GTS just over a fortnight ago. I would prefer to have the money in the bank now but of course its each to their own. When has your OPC said the PDK Spyder will be available?
I have seen German publicity material that it will be available in September. OPC has simply said towards end of year

PDK will be available in Germany by end of 2020...but not for UK customers until early 2021

i'm seriously considering one later this year but selling my 981GTS would be a huge deal for me.

Thus putting it into a likely 10% Brexit uplift. I think getting the manual now is the answer.

The GT4/Spyder PDK leak re. Autumn 2020 was several months ago now and things may well have changed, although Rennlist are saying it's still going to be arriving around that time.

Porsche are very much playing things by ear at the moment, I wouldn't bank on anything being set in stone right now.

Exactly....when a GTS 4.0 PDK actually becomes available to buy in the UK a decent spec will cost close to £90k. That is seriously more expensive than the GTS 2.5.

Understand Porsche is deploying a lot more resource on Taycan as launch date has slipped. I imagine PDK GTS down their list of priorities

Yep, the same would apply to PDK Spyder/GT4 so I can see why it might be delayed. Who knows, maybe they'll decide it's too quick so it may never come with PDK and they'll save it for the GT4 RS only?

The Taycan is really getting full backing from Porsche everywhere - manufacturing, marketing etc.

Exactly this....electric vehicles are now the main priority at Porsche

Yep, loved the 981s - I meant if I hadn’t had the Tesla I’d be more excited about the 4.0 - which has really surprised me, I never thought I’d feel like that.

As expected, I got confirmation I won’t be getting a new 718 Spyder at any stage (I have two OPCs I have “relations” with) so faced with a choice of either ordering a new BGTS 4.0, going for a used 981 Spyder or just keeping the 991 for a bit.

I’ve read all of the comments and agree with much of the sentiment about cost to change, but as this is our second car and is lightly used I wanted to keep Mrs Steelflex happy and jump into a convertible.

I’ve spaced a new GTS with as little as I can possibly manage and it’s nearly £72k http://www.porsche-code.com/PLG6IMP0

I can get a 981 Spyder for a bit less so it’s a tough call. OPC says a new GTS ordered now would be delivered May/June.

Interesting spec, thanks for posting.

I’m really not convinced GTS interior pack represents value at £3,300. Sat in both yesterday and found the non equipped cars just as pleasant.

Not sure the crested arm rest is essential either.

Nice car though and would certainly stand out.
