Is £90k so much? My Boxster GTS was £88k on the road.

And yes my current plan is to do the gearing as soon as RPM can fit me in

Wasn’t yours a PTS?

Agreed. I suppose it’s what is driving it this year versus next year (or sometime maybe never) is worth. Personally I think the Cayman you linked to is an absolute pee take at that price with that spec, but maybe someone else will think differently!
is it though , we are in the period of the unicorn , people are being quoted very long lead and apparently some have been told they wont actually get a car , luckily im not in that place , but if I was I might look at that and think you know what lets have a look, and due to the laws of supply & demand price isnt that outlandish

All of this is worrying. We put our order in Nov 21. The OPC has two PDK GTS 4.0 available for sale. I'm going to test drive one at the weekend. However our conversation was bleak regarding allocations.

I'm 3rd or 4th in the queue but hope to get a definitive answer at the weekend. More alarmingly he mentioned I might not get a car...

I know the supply chain has taken multiple hits, not least from the wiring looms acquired from the Ukraine but a bit of me was thinking is the 718 looking at ceasing production?

I hope to get better news at the weekend.
Please update on this. There are many of us out there wondering whether we will get a GTS, even those lucky enough to get an allocation and a confirmed build slot? The lack of clarity on this is a worry.

I got in the queue for a Boxster GTS very recently and was advised Q3 2023.
That will no doubt have slipped due to Ukraine, but I would assume that production is intended to go that far?

I placed my order for a Cayman GTS in August last year, spec was locked down in February and I was informed I may take delivery in May 2022.

Recent enquiries with Porsche Newcastle are not providing any information so its just a waiting game.(I was hoping to see images of the car during production but I guess that's not going to happen?)

When I visited in February to lock the spec I was informed that Porsche Newcastle are getting no information from the factory. The first they know of a delivery is when the car is in the UK heading to the dealership.

As a policy the dealership don't alert customers of delivery until it is actually on the premises.

I am kind of hoping this is true and cars just turn up. Surely you will get a car based on the fact that Porsche are still taking deposits with a likely delivery 2023. I am in the same position as you are. Order placed July 2021, build date end of April but who knows if this will be put back. Been put back once already by some weeks.

Don't get me wrong, I paid over for my Boxster GTS, in fact, not far off £90k, but only because it had bucket seats, ceramic brakes and pretty much every other box worth having ticked. I felt it was worth it to have and enjoy now, perhaps 12 months before I'd get a new one with everything that's going on. I was just questioning if the price was a bit much for that particular spec.

Bit confused on my order, deposit paid early Nov 21. OPC gave me an update early in the month to say nothing happening at moment. Received a message this morning via My Porsche account/app saying that my car has is now entered stage 3 and is now 'scheduled for production' but no time lines given?
They say the next I hear from them will be to say that it is built. Great news other than there is a couple of small tweeks to my order and have not passed them via OPC yet although they know I want to make them. Obviously I will contact OPC next week but anybody else had this? Is is just manufacturer spin keeping customers going? Thanks

Think this does mean it's being built, and no - they don't put dates in the app.

So good news: you'll get the car soon. Not so good news: the spec may have locked.

I thought you needed to sign on the dotted line when it comes to spec lock down, I certainly did. Have you been asked to do that yet?

Have an order form etc. and paid the £3k deposit. Was led to believe that before they actually put car into build you are contacted to lock your spec and increase deposit from the £3k to 10% of total order value. I have been in touch with the OPC over last couple of months and also made this clear ref the changes. Also as I am doing finance I'm pretty sure they would want to do all the usual checks to make sure I'm good for the credit before progressing. I've e-mailed OPC today and asked again about just coming in and making the tweeks regardless of timing of car build. So, we'll see.....

I signed on the dotted line for my car in August. Was told the spec was locked. Didn’t get any updates on the Porsche App until I signed for the car on the date it was delivered.

I knew nothing of the application that’s shows you the progress of your car build until I was told to register to this on the collection date.

I guess it depends which OPC you deal with when placing your order.

Just to update.

Waw told I'm 4th in queue, last year they had 6 allocated slots so I should be good for early next year (as in getting a build slot).

Test drive a the GTS 4.0 PDK was frankly the mutts. I've never been so taken with a car after a test drive.

Its kind of made the wait easier as I know the car is everything I want and more.

Cheers T1b

It’s a sublime car. Have had mine for six weeks. It’s easy (safe) and bloody good fun to drive. Very fast and great sounding too.

Took unbothered 19 year old daughter out today. Top down. Brief, quick drive. On return she admitted she got why I was so into cars.

[I also know that there are a ton of pictures of us on ‘the Gram’ but as I’m not allowed to follow her personal account I don’t have details]

This is positive. So obviously production is set to continue? Did they mention anything about time delays?

Context.

I paid my deposit in May 21. Took delivery on 22 Jan 22. PDK cayman GTS 40 - 1200 miles old now. Order was locked in late October. I think until you lock the order the factory can not factor the build in.

From what I've read, production is set to continue till 2025/2026 (By then the Cayman will be an EV). Sales advisor did state a similar date.

Regarding delays, Its kind of just watch this space unfortunately

Thanks for this update. Really useful. Everybody waiting for a car can see the bigger picture with what is happening in Ukraine and it does pale into insignificance. However when waiting for a car that is going to be your daily car, needing to know whether you will get it and when, is kind of important. I have a build date end of April but cannot work out when it will arrive as the delays seem all over the place.

To be honest, and it's easy for me to say but think long and hard about dailying the GTS 4.0. A guy I used to work with had a 911 but daily duties was a pretty beat up but reliable Polo.

I know we can't drive in fear of someone breathing on the car wrong but if you can, get a snotter for the daily.

Just my £0.02. That way you're not "depending" on a build happening.
