I can't find a second-hand 4.0 718 much below list, let alone one without mileage on the clock
It's for that reason I decided to buy new, OK having to wait 12 months (it arrives next month) but I just could not find a reasonable car at a reasonable price they were all pretty must list and looking at the situation again now that has not changed that much on used GTS 4.0s.

As it is looking, I cannot see dramatic depreciation over the first 12 months with a GTS 4.0. If there is I cannot worry. All I know it will be less than any M car I have owned and the car is so much superior. I intend to use mine and enjoy it. Life is too short!

I agree with this but I do feel a correction in the used car market will happen over the next year or so. I think big displacement manual cars will be relatively safe for a while considering we wont be able to buy them new after this era of cars.

People having been saying the used car market will have a correction for the last year. Personally I don’t think it will now . There are still shortages and manufacturers have realised they can sell less cars and make more profit so gone are the days of big discounts , so the prices are not going to drop and if they do not by much. Just my opinion from watching the market over the last 2 years .

As you say, the reason why the prices inflated before is as you say due to shortages of supply for new cars, this hasn't resolved itself yet hence why we are still seeing stability in the market at the inflated price. Once that issue resolves itself a sensible person would expect the market to come back to where it was before, i don't think thats beyond the realms of reason? - I do however think big displacement sports cars will stay up

If anyone is in the market for a CGTS4.0, I've just come back from Porsche South Lakes and they have 2.

A new one, PDK, Black on Black with GTS pack with yellow stitching and leather everywhere, brand new in the showroom and another in Racing Yellow however, the yellow one has 8500 miles on it and is near enough the same price as the new one in the showroom and around £80k.

The yellow one is stunning. Had it been manual, and had a rear wiper, I'd have been amazingly tempted. I think every other selection is spot on.

Not sure the new one is for sale, doesn't appear on their website. Might be waiting for someone to collect.

A GTS without a rear wiper is not a GTS. It is integral to the whole GTS proposition.

I had one on my 981CS and it was useful for reverse parking in the rain, not that it happened often. I’m not going to bother optioning it on my GTS 4.0 as I prefer the look without it.

Question on spec - I’m undecided on the satin black alloys, thinking instead to go for the satin platinum. However it occurs to me Porsche appear to have made black alloys part of the GTS look. Has anyone else veered away from the black alloys and are they still happy?

I’m on exactly the same thought process. I had the satin black wheels on my Spyder and they got lost in the overall design and I wasn’t a fan, but you’re right they are part of the GTS design and everything else on the car matches.

I’m still toying with Platinum wheels. I’m going Shark Blue now (we finally settled on that colour, third time lucky) and wheel colour is the final thing. Don’t have long before it locks.

Im really not keen on black wheels at all so on the previous GTS I went for the 911 turbo wheels & on current car just went for Silver , very happy in both cases

That's right, there's actually not a single Boxster GTS out there.

I've never had one on my Cayman, after all water is transparent for the most part smile

heated rear screen gets most of the water off or a good fast glass / glass polish will have the water sliding off. the look of the rear looks so much better without a wiper. Earlier i was looking at 991 Carrera S's / GTS and i felt so strongly about it i don't even bother looking at potential cars that have rear wipers.

personally i think you are making the right choice with your new GTS4.0 thumbup

edit: also not a fan of black wheels either

Care to share your spec, out of interest? I have a couple of months before I need to lock mine In.

From the responses there’s not a lot of love for black wheels… so it’s not just me then.

I chose satin platinum almost 2 years ago and am still very happy with that choice.

I'm a big fan of black wheels and do feel they are part of the black accessories GTS look. I pained over this on my order.

It is of course, purely a subjective thing, and labouring the light colour/dark wheels connundrum (Love Crayon/Black or Miami Blue/Black) I saw aventurine in the flesh. Each time I see it, its a different colour, but black wheels on Aventurine looks (to me) a bit munjy on a dull English day.

Hence I have gone for saturn aurum (should arrive next month)

Gold wheels on a grey/green car - not exacly GTS, not exaclty adventurous, but a classic Porsche combo for me... (will possible go black at some point, maybe have an alterate wheelset)

I'm not a fan of black wheels either though I think they do go well with a few exterior colours, Carmine Red and Shark Blue in particular.

I went for platinum on our Gentian GTS and still love it:

Gentian or Aventurine with black wheels just don't work for me and really dull the car down.

We're all different and there are no right or wrong answers.
