Yes all variants are made on same production line. I have been to Stuttgart factory a few times and it is normal to see 911 - including GT models - plus Boxster and Cayman going down same line ( I believe some Cayman production is now carried out at another factory though).
In terms of waiting times, Porsche is concentrating on high value variants I believe so basic spec models are likely to see longer delivery times. ( Porsche are not alone in this, many other manufactures are doing the same during supply shortages of various components). O

This is why I cancelled my July 2021 order in February. It got to the stage of "hopefully by the end of the year", based on these examples it looks like it would have been 2023. I wonder how long these sorts of waits will last, is it the new normal?
So what happens to your deposit?Biggest annoyance with the car is the stupid electric handbrake. Is there any way of making this come on automatically when I switch the ignition off like my wife's Tiguan does? That car also disengages it each time you move off, so you never actually need to touch the little button and it "just works". I have to faff around pressing the footbrake in the Boxster each time I start it. Annoying
No way of making them auto engage, but as long as your seatbelt is fastened, they should disengage automatically when you move off. I'd hate auto engage, as I tend not to use a parking brake when parking up at home, preferring to leave them in gear. (All my vehicles are manual gearbox).

Really? I must try this out tomorrow. I’ve stalled a few times on the drive because the handbrake has been engaged. I tend not to use it.Liam
Is it just me or is the switch counter intuitive? Push to engage and pull to release, feels wrong.

The 911 is the same -push to engage. Opposite from all other manufactures it seems . anyway best way to think about it is the same as a foot brake. I still push/pull he wrong way even after a few years. Crap decision that their part.Is it just me or is the switch counter intuitive? Push to engage and pull to release, feels wrong.

Yes the electric handbrake will only automatically disengage if you have your seatbelt on. This is really annoying when you just want to move a few feet on the driveway. You can obviously disengage it yourself but just be aware that you lose hill hold when you do that ..
+ 1I drove a rental on holiday and that has pull to engage - felt wrong to me!
Look at it another way, there are other similar style switches for releasing the boots, pull to release - there is consistency there!

So, mine locks down in 3 weeks and I’ve changed the spec again.
Got to finalise the spec but will have a trip to the dealership to do that. But main highlights are purple, gold wheels and white and black leather interior
Delivery beginning of November. I ordered march last year
Lovely colour! I do not see this in the configuator. Is it an out of range colour or PTS? Got to finalise the spec but will have a trip to the dealership to do that. But main highlights are purple, gold wheels and white and black leather interior

It was meant to lock on the 29th of August but actually locked at the beginning of July. Spec is the same apart from its jet green metallic and silver wheels, which will also look great. The only thing I was going to change was manual to pdk, but I don’t mind getting the manual either way
