Anyone else with standard steel discs on their GTS finding they need to really work the pedal to get some stopping power? The initial travel does little to nothing, maybe I’m used to PCCBs but the steels are not up to it. Would an upgraded perhaps GT3 master cylinder help?
Isn’t it just that they’re v progressive and not grabby? The more you press the more you get..?Mick Dastardly said:
Ordered my BGTS late July 21 (number 2 on the list), got told estimated q1 22, then 2 months ago was told it’d be unlikely I’d get the car before 23.
However, got a call this week with a build slot of mid October 22 and a delivery of early December, which is a nice Christmas pressie I suppose.
Tldr I suspect my OPC is a cock tease.
Here’s my final spec. http://www.porsche-code.com/PPTPG5A4
Love that Mick, don’t see enough of the natural leather choices and that two tone is lovely. I’m still trying to work out what leather interior goes best with Gentian, i’m trying to avoid black but can’t see any of the others working properly. However, got a call this week with a build slot of mid October 22 and a delivery of early December, which is a nice Christmas pressie I suppose.

Great spec and python looks great with the two tone leather. I would have done very similar, but would not have coloured roll bars (personal dislike) and would have black calipers as feel the red clashes with python, plus python such a bold colour it doesn't need anything else. However, got a call this week with a build slot of mid October 22 and a delivery of early December, which is a nice Christmas pressie I suppose.

Oddly enough I was going to go Gentian until I did the Porsche Experience, drove a Python car and thought the colour really popped in sunlight. For what it’s worth, my interior with Gentian would have been black/Luxor beige, which I thought worked really well.

I went two-tone black/crayon with my Gentian GTS which works really well. I’m a bit late to the party, called my OPC on Monday morning and somehow managed to secure a build slot for a December delivery.
I’ve got a while to lock in my config (I’m all set, Python Green, PDK, GTS interior etc), but I can’t decide re the PASM vs SPASM. I know it looks better 20mm lower, but I need the car to be usable as a daily. Does anyone regret going with the 20mm lower option, can you safely get over speed bumps etc?

The standard 20mm drop is a non issue (UK based?).I’ve got a while to lock in my config (I’m all set, Python Green, PDK, GTS interior etc), but I can’t decide re the PASM vs SPASM. There is very little difference. Getting over speed bumps, multi storey car parks, etc. are no problem with the standard -20mm I’ve got a while to lock in my config (I’m all set, Python Green, PDK, GTS interior etc), but I can’t decide re the PASM vs SPASM. Appreciate the responses, FYI I’m UK based (NE Scotland).
My old 981 CS rode well, but had way too much space between the tyre and wheel arch. At the time I looked into the Porsche X81 kit, but the car was missing other options so in the end we parted ways. I did however try a boxster with the X81 kit and it was noticeably firmer, but not crashy. By the sounds of it the 718 GTS might be even firmer, despite being adjustable. Hmm will need to try and test one before I lock my options in.
Good to hear the ride height isn’t an issue though.

Got the call from my OPC on Wednesday this week.
Build slot allocation Nov 22. That’s precisely 12 months since deposit put down.
Spec all sorted except colour!!!!!!!
It’s going to be Crayon or Arctic Grey, I think……..?
Wow, slot in November, that is planning ahead. I normally get a slot 2-3 months before Prod. Good to have more predictability to plan ahead.Build slot allocation Nov 22. That’s precisely 12 months since deposit put down.

Car Magazine has recently released this YouTube video comparing the GTS to the new Lotus Emira and the Alpine A110S.
It gets a bit boring in parts but worth a watch…

Love the random translations in the auto-subtitles. "Cayman" becomes "Claymore".It gets a bit boring in parts but worth a watch…

It’s been agreed with the current Mrs S that we need to have a brighter colour, so i’ll be changing my order to Python Green. Does anyone have any views on interior choices?
I won’t be going GTS pack currently, and i can’t bring myself to go with the two-tone interior and i’m thinking either black, agate grey or espresso full leather. I’ve selected the lizard green stitch and seat belts currently as well, just to liven it up.
Black is obviously safe, agate grey seems to be brown in some pictures. First-world problems obviously, and spec lock not until August so plenty of time yet.

I am absolutely thrilled with full Espresso natural leather which I was told by OPC is a very unusual choice. A very dark brown, almost black. Also the leather is a real step up in quality, texture and smell from the standard
Hi. I'm very interested in this interior colour too. I don't suppose you can post a pic please?Gassing Station | Boxster/Cayman | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
