Perhaps I sit in the middle, or maybe I'm just making the wrong decision?!?
The car will be a 3rd car (we have a big family bus and a school drop-off shop run car), for me to enjoy and use when our 4x kids are with mine and my partners respective 2 ex's. It won't be tracked (and even if it does I'm not track genius so I won't/can't push it to a place when're buckets will make that much difference), just enjoyed on A/B roads, and also to use when the 2 of us visit family and have days out together.
I've considered a GTS 4.0, but being honest, the thing doesn't excite me, it doesn't look or feel special enough. I want a car that takes me away from the place of having the 4 kids, back to the enjoyment I had of sports cars pre 'growing up'. (I've had things like T350, S2000, VX220 Turbo, 1m etc)
The dealer has emailed me to say he has 2 cars to chose from that are the same price. Different colours, but both the same age and same miles and pretty much the same small options like reversing camera, full Race-tex interior etc, but the significant difference is: 1 has buckets and steels, the other has 18-way and PCCB. My head is telling me I need 18-way and PCCB's.
Thoughts?
PCCB’s are nice to have, if only for not having brake dust all over the alloys…The car will be a 3rd car (we have a big family bus and a school drop-off shop run car), for me to enjoy and use when our 4x kids are with mine and my partners respective 2 ex's. Sounds like you prefer the 18 way seats & will not like / need the buckets…so I’d be going with that combination.
They are still very good seats if you’re not tracking the car.
My thoughts for what they are worth
Why PCCB if the car is being driven mainly in the city. I am led to believe they are less responsive than steels until warmed up and you are not going to heat them up in urban driving - unles you drive lime a lunatic.
18 ways - if the car is being driven by multiple drivers then maybe but if you are the only driver, once you have found the right seating position you will never adjust them again. Extra weight and complication !
The reason you are seeing more manaual than PDK is that PDK has only been available to order since October (December build) 2020.

Well back on topic there are more GT4's for sale now than a month of two ago looking at AT anyway.
A month or two ago, I'm sure there were less than 20 of each variant and now they there are close to 30 x 981 GT4 and 26 x 718 GT4.
I just think it indicates prices have topped out for now as stuff's slightly slower to shift.

If your worried about long terms values then GT4 must surely be near top of the list? Great cars and not a lot comparable for the money. Values have stood the test of time already.
Yes, the key thing is not alot (any?) competition at that price point in terms of mid-engined cars...This ones around the corner from me and trying to resist taking it for a test drive (not really my color as not into the maintenance required with metallics)..

Love that... Shame the stitching is not yellow inside. I have been speaking to the dealer as the lack of Porsche warranty worry's me. This ones around the corner from me and trying to resist taking it for a test drive (not really my color as not into the maintenance required with metallics)..

I’ve gone for PDK, two way seats and and PCCBs. Good looking carbon seats that are a pain to get in and out of are not for me. Your car so spec it how you want it. Surely that’s the point of buying a new car, you make it your own? I fully admit the brakes for me are purely a vanity buy as I just love the look of them on a GT Silver car. I doubt I will ever track my car so I should have ordered another GTS others have told me. They are probably right but I wanted a GT4 so that’s what I’m having.
Do your own thing my friend and enjoy the car in whichever way pleases you.

Factor in the lack of Porsche warranty only for the brave or stupid.

I haven't found PCCB's less responsive I think they are a great braking system - unless of course you've just washed your car in which case they just don't work for the first few stops which can be pretty hairy. Why PCCB if the car is being driven mainly in the city. Thing I found with the PCCB's in the 981 GT4 is that they are grabby which made heal and toe far more difficult. It's a lot easier to modulate with the steel options. So much so that I spec'd my manual 991.2GT3 with steels so that I could H&T without putting the passenger through the windscreen.
I owed take a GT4 with comfort and PCCB any day for my 98% road use. If I wanted an track set-up buckets and steels all the way.

The 5 owners with only 9k miles would be an equal worry especially at that price ££.

Not unusal these days in terms of owners and as we've mentioned most don't drive them.Factor in the lack of Porsche warranty only for the brave or stupid.
Porsche warranty is an easy fix. Running without is not a big deal. The only issue that's a potential risk appears dynamic engine mount failure requriring replacement.

NI plate so useless for checking MOT history though.
If you like buckets get buckets
If you like comfort seats get comfort seats
If you are worried about ease of sale and residuals then get buckets plus club sport pack
Either way get one you will love it
Mine is 2016 with buckets, clubsport pack and PCCB's and I love it to bits. Even after 14 hours of driving in Scotland in 1 day the seats never gave me issues
Interesting to see loads more 981 Gt4's for sale amazing now the cheapest is nearly £70k!!!!!
