Hi all

I am after a 981 GT4. Needs to be clubsport otherwise the private yellow one would have been ideal. Anyone have any views good or bad on this one at Cameron:

https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/13006107

Thanks
My recently departed Cayman S came from Cameron. Friendly and professional, gave me a great price on my trade-in. The Cayman never missed a beat in the 6yrs I had it. I was tempted by that particular GT4 but picked one up closer to home.
Cameron’s have a nice operation there, servicing, car storage etc.. I’d recommend going and having a look.

Thanks for the feedback on a Cameron everyone.

Any views on the options the car comes with? Anything missing? For me clubsport, carbon seats and pccbs are the three key must haves, along with pcm of course. The extra carbon and alcantara bits are nice too of course. Is there anything else obvious missing though?

Thanks all

That particular car is very well optioned. For me must haves were 918 seats, Sport Chrono and bi-xenon’s/PDLS. Nice to have and got, carbon package and PPF in all the right places. Deal breakers were black car and black wheels. Now that’s me. Someone else will dismiss the 918 seats as uncomfortable and Sport Chrono as a waste, it might be but I do like having the clock there. Looks bare without it.
You know the options you want, you’re buying it for you. Get what you want/need and enjoy.

Only thing missing is you buying and enjoying it. yum

Great colour, nice spec, I’d want the wheels in the grey but it’s not a deal breaker.
Must be SOR as selling it with Porsche warranty - could be a deal to be had!

What's general consensus on retaining Porsche warranty ? How much is it pa and given these cars appear typically robust after 6yrs is it needed or a risk not to?
Car I drove other day had fabspeed headers/sports cats and Porsche had refused to warranty without original being put back on.

You won't get a Porsche warranty with after market headers and sport cats. You will also struggle to get within noise limits if you track the car unless it's a noisy day, even stock exhaust struggles at a lot of tracks.

I have a stock 981 GT4 CS and have just renewed the warranty for a further year, £660 (with no excess) for the warranty and an additional £175 for Porsche Assistance. I did consider not renewing the Porsche assistance but for what is offered should anything happen, it was piece of mind. The warranty cost at £660 a year in my opinion is a no brainer. As a comparison, my wife's BMW M240i warranty renewal is £633 a year including BMW Assistance.

Basically, I'd say the Porsche warranty and Porsche Assistance costs are very competitive especially when comparing it to the BMW costs for a M240i and that's not even for a M car which would be more expensive.

“Only thing missing is you buying and enjoying it.”

Problem solved as it’s now sold.

Went to look and it’s an amazing car with a huge spec list and in immaculate condition. Paperwork all checks out too. Bought it there and then.

Oh and Cameron are indeed a quality outfit - they have a great set up down there if anyone ever gets the chance to visit.

Thanks for all the help and advice.

Good job… I’ve always worked on the view that if I find the car I want, others will be interest in it too. Hesitate and you can miss out.

Congratulations. It looks like a great buy. I am in the process of trying to buy a 981 GT4 clubsport privately. If it fails its inspection today I had my eye on your new blue one. Rats wink

I know the feeling… you find the car you want, now you’re hoping the 111 check is clear. GT4s tend to be well cared for, if it has full Porsche history there’s a good chance it will pass.

Good man - well done!

A word to the wise. You might find the first time you encounter a particularly uneven road surface at moderate speed that you hear a disarming “DOINK!” noise just behind your head.

Relax. It’s the cage flexing. Nothing to worry about.

All good - zero ignitions in 3 or above, that was my main concern

Quite used to it, my old 996.2 gt3 used to do exactly the same thing!

How to work out how to properly quote previous comments on this platform is another matter altogether however!!

This one looks lovely huh. Came up today

Not common to see a PTS choice being a subtle colour but that Graphite Grey looks lovely in my opinion. Anyone looking for a manual surely thats the one to get. By no way affiliated to the car I should add....just noticed it and thought to share.

Looks immaculate but not a fan of the decals myself on that colour scheme. Probably cost a fortune to have that shade too.

yep though probably not a huge drama to change the decals to something perhaps more sympathetic if preferred.

Its the best GT4 I have seen come on the market in a long time.

Agree. Whilst I don't think it will be an issue given the mileage covered you won't get an OPC warranty with those brake pads fitted if you were inclined. Personally I wouldn't and let a trusted Indepenedent look after it for a third of the cost.

Why not? Are Manthey not OEM ?

Nope, they're classed as a modification unlike the full MR kits for the 991 GT2RS and 991 GT3RS. Although they may only be approved for the warranty extension in the EU not the UK?
