12 GT4's for sale on PistonHeads and growing (Vol. 2)
Discussion
Hi all, I'm looking to upgrade from a TVR Cerbera into a GT4 (guards red with buckets) and I have read through many of these pages but still have a couple of queries i hope this thread could help with please?
Are there any known issues to look out for when buying or are they generally pretty bullet proof? I was looking at independent sales but is going through an OPC with extended warranty a much better option?
What are the correct servicing intervals?
Finally, how loud are they? It's designed to be track car but do they have issues get on track like an Exige 410?
Thanks in advance - a great thread full of info!

I had a gearbox mount go (quite common apparently) I think it was £1800 but it was covered under Porsche warranty.
You mention an Exige 410, controversial opinion on this thread but I came from a red 981 with buckets. Didn’t like it. Bought an Exige 410 blows the Porsche out of the water as a drivers car imo. Different strokes for different folks and all that though.

Mines standard and i don't think it's loud enough to fail a noise test at most tracks. It's sporty but not overtly loud.
I don't think they are an issue for normal days at most tracks, even if modified. CW and TDT have heavily modified cars and don't seem to have too many issuesMaybe Brands GP, where they run a slightly lower DB usually, and maybe Goodwood?
Thanks for the replies. The Cerbera is 113dba so no chance of tracking but also feels too “fragile” anyway for track work. Been a fun car but I want something a bit special for weekend early morning drives and 2-3 track days a year at iconic locations. Exige was my other leaning but fancy some German reliability again!
I’m looking to pick up a GT4 and of the cars available this looks one of the better options. I would like leather dash and buckets of some sort. Have I missed anything in the spec of this car apart from the bright yellow which would put you knowledgeable folk off?

Looks a very decent spec and price given the very low mileage.https://redlinespecialistcars.co.uk/used-cars/pors...
Tyres might be original and 7yr old so that's a grand right there for sticky modern rubber. Has it been sat around not used, what's the service interval like as it might have just had one service?
What's left on the discs and pads- should be like new? £1k there if not.
Over rev check with Porsche inspection should pick everything up.
Looks like its possibly on the original Dunlop Maxx tyres so check those there are not everyones first choice for a GT4.
Brakes need checking too as well as engine history over revs etc.
Has the car had any paint?
Check number of owners and service history I would want no more than 2 owners and full OPC history and Porsche warranty included.
Nice spec.

I've just bought a 3 owner car with full opc history and inspection. It's like new. Owner numbers to me aren't a major worry as these cars were flipped for profit. I know a guy who sold his without driving it.Brakes need checking too as well as engine history over revs etc.

Can’t see any obvious issue. https://redlinespecialistcars.co.uk/used-cars/pors...
Worthwhile checking if 6yr service has already been done… if not mentioned in the sales blurb… if not, it will be due… so worth negotiating some allowance for that.
