The engine will be lacking in noise, reach and character not to mention power compared to its siblings. Agree it will be an interesting car though. Just not the hottest GT car ever!

Totally agree. It'll also be very expensive for a Cayman, which will be too expensive for a lot of people as it's not a 911.

might be a better power to weight than the 911 gt3's or close as dammit.

Noise is a none issue as it's a track weapon and restriction are getting mental now.

it's not all about that headline BHP figure.

GT3 RS power to weight 355bhp/ton

GT4 RS maybe can be 340Bhp/ton

GT4 will stop faster, corner faster, change direction faster etc etc. if they develop a R spec tyre for it, will be mental fast on track.

be interesting if they lap faster than the 7.12 GT3 time at the ring. The way it comes round that bend In the Vid a GT3 could not do that.

I guess it all depends if they limit the Torque on the PDk box, then all bets are off.

Torque wins races ,as do mid engine cars ;-)

Don’t think price will put people off on the GT4 RS...made in such low numbers that all those Porsche collectors even in these times will hoover them up.

It’s depressing when the loudest thing on that video is the tyre squeal of a 4x4 rather than the exhaust note of product of the Porsche GT dept....I know Turbo has never been the best sounding car in the range but the 992 Turbo sounds st ! On Instagram the other day there was a video of a new Cayenne with twin centralsh exit exhausts (apparently the new GTS) which genuinely sounded really good....probably the US version!

For the price that a GT4 RS will be.... I'd prefer to get into a 991.1 RS or a Manual.2 GT3.

As much as I love the GT4/Mid-engine platform....both of those 911 will be overall better and faster with no concessions to pecking order.... neither require a bun/bum-fight over allocations.

I agree. At the same price point I'd choose a 991.2 GT3 over a GT4RS for the manual 'box.

991.2 PDK GT3 or GT4 RS though ;-) for £125k and £115k so 4RS maybe cheaper and brand new or a higher miles 991.1 RS.

GT4 RS for me thanks.

991.2 Manual GT3 is an all time classic so out on it's own really and still zero nice spec cars for sale even in these times.
Noise, engine, price point, manual, NA, it will never happen again, but that's for another thread. (future classics)..

GT4 RS will be special, low numbers and no issues selling these at £105k/110k speced up £115k with PTS and PCCB's ?

Buts it’s PDK only?

like all modern RS models for the track.

Not that any ones knows the spec of it yet, but yes guessing it will be PDK only.

Good point, I would sacrifice noise for a car I could use everywhere.

What was the ring time for the standard 718GT4? It's certainly possible it will match or beat a previous model GT3. But it won't even be close to the 992 GT3 time. As you know Porsche always maintain the model hierarchy which is why it won't be the 'hottest GT product ever'. That will be the 992RS

7:28, same as the Carrera GT back in the day.

Thanks. So around a 7.12 would be a reasonable expectation. Anything much better than this impacts too much on model hierarchy imo

not many these days hence the RSR don't have the engine In the rear.
