Just ticked over 13k miles and my Pirelli’s from the factory are down to roughly 4mm so looking to change shortly. These are on 20 inch Carrera Sport alloys.

Have found the Pirelli’s OK and seem to have lasted fairly well - what mileage have people got out of theirs? One point is that the factory 265/35/20 rear and 235/35/20 just don’t seem big enough for the rims and they almost protrude. Fortunately have managed to avoid any kerbing.

What are people’s experiences with the N Spec Michelin PS4’s and Goodyear Eagle F2?

Both are liked, PS4Ss get my vote others will say Eagles though of course. I think you can get N rated versions for the 718 for extended warranty purposes.

Went from P zero's to PS4S on my 981CS. Better tyre all round, and looks a better fit on the wheel too.

Thanks for the reply guys - probably going to go for PS4S as although the Goodyear’s are cheaper, I can’t seem to find any reviews.

PS4S are mega tyres. Lightyears ahead of the P Zero, especially when it rains or if it's cool.

PS4S are the best I believe, I swapped the god awful p-zeros it came with for *Goodyears at just over 13k and it was a revelation, grip in wet was much improved as was road noise.

Have got over 20k out of the Goodyears so far and they still have plenty of tread, unlike the p zeros.

*I couldn’t get PS4S n rated for 18”s.

No experience of PS4S but I have Eagles on my 981 CGTS. Superior to Pirelli and certainly a bit quieter. Out of choice I wouldn't have the Pirellis again.

Yes, I also like the GY F1 Eagles and have them on several vehicles inc 981GTS - subjectively good all round performance, and quieter than Pirelli’s, Bridgestones or Michelin’s, IMO
Also have MP4S on a BMW.

I suspect that if you drive hard and need loads of grip then it should be the Michelins. Otherwise the Eagle F1 is a jolly good all-round tyre.

Round tyres obviously help biggrinbiggrinbiggrin
Also been very pleased with the Goodyears, in normal road use. I think they are also pretty good value.

Due to change mine on 981 GTS, currently original P-zeros (13k miles). Still legal but nearly 6 years old and lots of cracking/crazing on fronts.
Warranty wise, only have choice of P-zeros or Eagles.
Priced up today, cheapest www.camskill.co.uk
Having read comments, going to go for the Michelin’s.
Thanks for helping me decide, and cheaper

Had my warranty renewed (981 CS) in Mar with PS4s's on. Worth having chat with the service team.

I have had a set of PS4s fitted to my Cayman GTS just this morning.

I have a warranty extension 111 point check booked for 25th June and my OPC have stated that as long as the tyres are N spec, that’s fine

Zunnsport grilles are a different matter however (and not for this thread!)

Whilst I hate to say it, Kwikfit were by far the cheapest I could find - 265/35/20 and 235/35/20. NHS10 gives 10% off and also 6.4% back via Quidco. They don’t appear to be asking for proof but of course, it would be morally wrong to claim discount smile

Unfortunately the offer has just finished, but 2 or 3 times a year Costco do £100 off 4 Michelin tyres. I've never been able to find anywhere to beat their prices when they do. Last set I had from them were cheaper fitted than I could even buy them loose from the likes of Camskill.

There was a post last year on the Cayman OC forum that summed up the tyre situation well. Someone asked if there was anything better for their car than the P Zero and the first response was "bare rims". Nail on head for me. I've experience P Zeros in 911, Boxster, Cayman and 911 and on all they have been total crap. The Michelin PS4S is a different league, especially in the wet. I used to run Eagle F1s on my Impreza and they were good. I've not done enough miles on them on a Porsche to say definitively but if I were you I'd go PS4S. Indeeed Mr C. Harris on his Instagram question and answer session the other week basically said they were the tyre to have.

Change your front to 245 and run cup2 or msp4. The Pzero are terrible in comparison. We binned the Pzero after 500 miles they were so bad.

The 245 upfront makes a big difference. Easy upgrade which we found out on our development car several years ago.
