Soooo nearly there…OPC advises there has been a bigger than normal import of GT cars on the last shipment and there’s now a backlog at Reading …
Pick up now next Sat vs yesterday
On the upside had a 90 min session at Silverstone today. Great fun and value, short bendy tracks, superb in a manual, auto blip Cayman. Instructor says I’m “actually not bad” which I take as a compliment

I had my PEC Silverstone drive today. My first ever drive in a Porsche. It was a fantastic experience, with spot on guidance and coaching from Keith. I was far faster at the end of the day, and still barely scratching the surface of what the car could do.
After the session, no desire to change my spec, which has limited options. Good job, as it's already locked.
Sounds corny but for someone who's dream it's been to own a Porsche it was fantastic. Roll on delivery now! Hopefully late July or August.

Wow, a GT4 with no prior purchasing history, I'm sure there would be many pi**ed off regular customers at your dealership if they knew.Sounds corny but for someone who's dream it's been to own a Porsche it was fantastic.

As an aside, I see PTS selection on the configurator now allows you to pick & show the colours on the car.
And in my opinion, what a bunch of completely unispiring colours you get charged £7k for! They all look dull as dishwater to me, or very similar to existing cheaper offerings in the standard palette.I could maybe get the appeal for one on a comfort spec GT3 Touring if you really like the colour and want to stay stealthy, but on a winged GT3 or GT4?

The problem with PTS as I see it is, in the most (not everyone!), in this country PTS is a fashion thing rather than an individual thing. Right now everybody appears to be obsessed with Dark Greens or Dark Purples, so everyone currently ordering PTS are in fact just copying each other rather than exploiting the whole available palette. In the US they are far more adventurous, a chap on Rennlist has just ordered a Mint Green GT4.

I'll also be a first time customer.
Deposit down late last summer.
MY23 august build slot with PCCB's.
There are clearly a few of us! Perseverance and often pay dividends! Deposit down late last summer.
MY23 august build slot with PCCB's.
Hope you get your car on time and enjoy it.
These dealers do exist, but they do seem few & far between. I think a lot of it is down to the attitude you have when you first approach them.

Me also! First time Porsche customer here, who spent a day last summer ringing round dealers trying to order a GT4, and each time I was courteous/ polite. It paid of and I eventually found a dealer who was nice, reasonable and who accepted my order without any run-around. Deposit placed, build slot allocated in Dec, spec locked end of Jan.... now in limbo waiting for it to arrive.

You’re right. No expectations helps, and a polite honest way of dealing with them. Got lots of push back from some, polite no from others and half-hearted potential yes from others. Then I found the good one, and a spot on, straight down the line sales guy. Just waiting for the build now. These dealers do exist, but they do seem few & far between. Similar experience for me - in fact I only called two, first said no chance and second gave no promises but said there was a good chance and it’s now come through. Seems like they’ll be a good number more 718s than 981s (both GT4 and Spyder) which must be helping. NA3pedals said:

Feels that way, but 718 still lower than the 981 on how many left. I can see that changing as we progress through 2022. NA3pedals said:

Customers who have been loyal to one dealer and have placed letter of intent (which was the previous system) will have hopes and some expectations. If they are not serial buyers and buy cars to keep and drive, they are by the value of purchases per annum automatically excluded.
No history is therefore an attitudinal advantage wherever expectations might generate a negative interpretation ...

Utter nonsense. My Ultraviolet PTS was the first purple GT4 in the UK. At the time there was one other worldwide. I wasn't copying anyone. I chose Ultraviolet because I loved the colour on the GT3RS and it is a proper "in your face" colour suitable for a GT car. I don't care what colours other people choose or what is fashionable. Or how wide the colour palette is. If I'm specifying a £100K car I choose what I want. If you want mint green then that's up to you.Edited by kmpowell on Monday 9th May 17:46
