Hopefully found one, club sport package, ceramics, cf seats, nice bits of Carbon Fibre, leather and stitching interior and manual. It’s just the right side of 100k just within my budget. It’s not my first second or even third choice of paint colour but love the interior colours.
Looking like I may have to commit without seeing in person, should I ask for videos of anything specific or with it being a relatively new car except it is bob on? The one car I looked at had a small paint blemish between the bumper and bonnet.
Thanks in advance.

Let’s just say that this one also had a ‘small paint blemish between the bumper and bonnet’ how would you feel about that?
Get a PPI on it for the sake of a few hundred pounds. You can arrange for the seller to assist with taking it in, and if they don’t agree, arrange for a mobile PPI to be done.
Either way, at your cost, but at 0.025% of the car price (give or take) I am amazed you’d think to ask to be honest. Perhaps you are very cavalier in life…if so hats off to you!

Well there you go then. PPI with them, from which they’ll supply video/s, and ask them to pay some attention to the paint quality too, and you are all set.
Yer will do was more of a question of there is a specific thing to ask to see.VTECMatt said:

Would distance selling rules apply in this situation? If so that could offer an extra layer of protection and give 14 days after delivery of the vehicle for you to reject meaning you can inspect at your leisure. If so, ask for lots of photos, videos etc. Things that spring to mind are a rev range report and perhaps a PCCB measurement. Maybe ask if they can provide a bodywork appraisal to determine if original paint. Or pay for a PPI with a Porsche specialist. Good luck!
I requested an over rev report (only required if a manual) and PCCB measurements (both pad wear and disc composition. Ceramic discs aren’t measured on thickness but material composition at specific points on the disc) and the OPC (Chester) provided both within a day. They were very transparent, mentioned there was a scuff on the splitter and scratches on the plastic on the sill that would be replaced before delivery. The car was immaculate when I collected it. Good luck!
Good luck with the purchase! If it’s Crayon, sounds as though it’s almost identical spec to mine!
A friend is about to get his long awaited GT4.
He is “somewhat OCD” (irony alert…) about his cars and this is his first Porsche.
He is looking to get a full PPF installation.
Can anyone recommend an installer with a demonstrably good track record of GT4s, as the skill of the installer is critical in my experience, and just as important as the quality of the template and choice of product.
South Midlands area preference.
Thanks in advance!

Has he asked the OPC who they use? He can’t be the first customer to want PPF..
The OPC option will not be the cheapest but the OPC will absolutely not want a poor job doing that reflects badly on them.
Topaz, again not cheap would be an option for south mids, either drive it down post collection or arrange for it to be trailered to them.

I used Graham at Azuri for my RS, based near Stevenage. They did a great job and a bit more reasonable than Topaz! He is “somewhat OCD” (irony alert…) about his cars and this is his first Porsche.

Into month 10 from order I go and it's tantalising close now. As of COP Wednesday, my SA said the status was still V260, location was still "In Production" and the CP8 date was expected to be 1st June. So if the OPC is open tomorrow I should find out if it's been built, if not then it'll be Monday.
I'm still not believing it until I see it though...

Agreed on the OPC being invested in a good job, for sure. The OPC option will not be the cheapest but the OPC will absolutely not want a poor job doing that reflects badly on them.

He has asked but their recommended installer does not appear to have any GT4s in his portfolio (actually not many Porsches of any description) although plenty of other high end cars.
But every car is different, and has its own foibles for PPF installation, and experience of the particular car is important.
Really chuffed to have just got an allocation! Thought the opportunity had passed me by. Really surprised to get a message from my SA to tell me I have an allocation for Sept/Oct delivery if I want it. What a stupid question…
Now just need to start working on a spec! It’s been a while since I’ve had the chance to spec a new car! How exciting!

I have recently ordered a GT4 and am in the fortunate position that I can pay for the car without using any form of finance. However the dealer is insisting that for GT car purchases finance must be used to pay for the car. At the current rate of 6% this will cost me money. Has anyone else who wished to pay the full amount outright for a GT car had this experience with their dealer?
Yes I had this with a Boxster 25 which were in short supply, so it was a similar situation. If you don't go along with it, you won't get the allocation. Nothing in writing, because technically it's illegal, but there's not much you can do about it. However, when you've taken out the agreement, you can just pay it off - you just request the settlement figure - there's nothing that they can do about that. That's also legally available to any customer under a credit agreement. They have the right to make a small charge. I can find out what the charge is if you're interested. I took delivery early November 2021, all settled and paid before the end of December, so minimal interest paid. I hope this helps.jackwood said:
