718 GT4 UK Allocations
Discussion
I went to swap out my GTS order into a GT4 this morning and was told that GT4 orders are no longer being taken (as of a week ago). Not sure if this squares up with known information already on this thread, a cursory check suggested people were ordering until a few weeks ago.
No certainty if this was a forever decision, but it sounded like no builds planned for 2023. OPC was clear they would have happily taken my order, but are prevented from doing so.

I actually went to my OPC a good few weeks ago for another test drive in a 992 and was told the same thing. No more orders for GT4. No certainty if this was a forever decision, but it sounded like no builds planned for 2023. OPC was clear they would have happily taken my order, but are prevented from doing so.

I have recently ordered a GT4 and am in the fortunate position that I can pay for the car without using any form of finance. However the dealer is insisting that for GT car purchases finance must be used to pay for the car. At the current rate of 6% this will cost me money. Has anyone else who wished to pay the full amount outright for a GT car had this experience with their dealer?
Yes I had this with a Boxster 25 which were in short supply, so it was a similar situation. If you don't go along with it, you won't get the allocation. Nothing in writing, because technically it's illegal, but there's not much you can do about it. However, when you've taken out the agreement, you can just pay it off - you just request the settlement figure - there's nothing that they can do about that. That's also legally available to any customer under a credit agreement. They have the right to make a small charge. I can find out what the charge is if you're interested. I took delivery early November 2021, all settled and paid before the end of December, so minimal interest paid. I hope this helps.av185 said:
You are clearly no Porsche enthusiast with your history furthermore its for all to see you don't own any cars whatsoever apart from those in your little fantasy world.
Everyone knows the nearest you will get to a track is playing with your scalextric.
Why don’t you come to Brands tomorrow. Garage 7&8. I’ll be in my 997.GT3. I might even offer you pax laps…if you bring your GT2RS Everyone knows the nearest you will get to a track is playing with your scalextric.

I have come to the conclusion that I will have to use their finance and then pay it off pretty quickly. Thanks also to everyone else who has responded to my query and more or less said the same thing.

Without going too much into the reasons why I am considering selling my 2022 GT4, any recommendations on Porsche buyers or do most sell back to the OPC. The car is fantastic but it sits in the garage all week and then I’m busy on the weekend. Seems like a waste….
Briefly - what's the spec on yours? Colour, gearbox, miles and 'big ticket' options will do bud - don't need to know if it's got the storage net or not... Cheers,
David

Into month 10 from order I go and it's tantalising close now. As of COP Wednesday, my SA said the status was still V260, location was still "In Production" and the CP8 date was expected to be 1st June. So if the OPC is open tomorrow I should find out if it's been built, if not then it'll be Monday.
I'm still not believing it until I see it though...
Confirmation from my SA this lunchtime to tell me my car has FINALLY completed build, left the factory, and apparently it's on the way to Emden! I'm still not believing it until I see it though...

Great news! Not long now to wait….Is your SA able to provide you with the ship details so you can track it across the channel? I wish we had the tracking ability like they do in the states.

Very nice! what are you doing about the number plate? Steering wheel material is looking a bit brittle would you agree?
Thanks! Leaving it off for the time being. Have a front sticker on order but looks so good without. Purchasing a pair of Dents Silverstone touchscreen gloves which should help maintain the condition of the RaceTex steering wheel for longer.
Hopefully it doesn’t break if I grip it hard but think the plastic is probably reinforced and holds up well.
Doesn't look so different from the steering wheel on my 981 GT4 at 14,000 miles. I think you'll be OK.
As Nigel Tufnel would say, "none more blue". I must say, they really do look great in blue. Hope you enjoy. (Serial Carrara White Cayman buyer that almost grew a pair, but then when I bought my last one, no blues available the configurator...)
