There are a whopping 94 Cayman GT4’s on Autotrader now…….

Put in PDK in the search and this drops to 28 cars

Put in PDK with bucket seats and it drops to 14 cars !

It’s no different to the 991.2 GT3 market…..the same cars have been languishing unsold
for ages because they are rubbish spec, boring colour, comfort seats etc etc
Recently an OPC had a lovely Gen 2 graphite blue metallic GT3 and it sold about
2hrs after going online…..

Yep completely.
PCCB, CS, 918 seats are what people are after.

I've just bought a used 718GT4 and paid about £7.5k less than it would cost new today including tax. As mentioned above there are more than plenty to choose from, however I was very fussy on spec. I only wanted a Manual, PCCB, Full leather, LWBS,Clubsport, LED+, BOSE, Camera, Climate and Auto wipers/mirrors. The last two items were only 'nice to haves' because I have them on all my other Porsches and got used to having them.
When I inputed these into the OPC used car search site I only had a total of three cars to choose from, one car had over 18k miles which I disregarded. I only considered ones from OPCs as I really wanted a full no quibble Porsche two year warranty.
There are also plentiful 991GT3s and 992GT3s for sale at silly prices and not shifting. Spec is key and there are a lot of £718GT4s in very much poverty spec and asking 'overs' which will never sell unless they reduce prices by £5-10k.

Well said and congrats on the new car!
Mine arrives in a couple of weeks in pretty much the spec you've outlined above but with PDK.
Sadly I had to drop PDLS+ due to the chip shortage but I can live with that.

Same here. No PDLS+ but I've come to terms with it, as the PDLS are still decent enough.

From what I've been told the GT4 is a better car with PDK but after a long run of PDK cars I realy yearned a return to a Manual for a change. Sounds like your car has an awesome spec and will sell well and quickly when the time comes.

Took my daughter for a quick 60 mile spin late last night and really appreciated the auto dip lights however the non LED PDLS are still pretty good so no real biggie.

Good choice on the manual and obviously much discussed but it depends what defines 'better'.

Having driven both at length and having owned both a manual 981 GT4 and 981 Spyder I specced the 718 GT4 manual as I much prefer this way more interactive gearbox so opted for this seeing it as being a crucial part of the Porsche GT driving experience as it is one of Porsches best manual gearboxes in fact probably even surpassing the GT3 despite the slightly long ratios which in practice and in contrast to folklore do nothing to detract from the car as a brilliant package overall especially at the money.

Paid well under list for a good spec. OPC car , that will upset those who said it wouldn’t happen and those who ordered just for the overs!
Crystal ball says a few sub £80k cars by end of year!

Price paid? Year? Mileage?

Would be interesting to know the full cost by the end of the term relative to the initial list price. I assume sticker prices drops will be offset by the higher rates of interest charged on finance.

Crystal ball says IF there are any sub £80k cars by the end of the year (very unlikely obviously as the 981 provides clear support even though it is now a 7 year old car) these will be the usual 3+ year old high mileage comfort/crappy/weird spec multi owned cars possibly with a story the basic list price of which was only c£73k. So still over list new.

If one had to rank gear change quality and tactility for the joy of the process, is there a better choice than this Porsche six speeder ?

Of course also taking pedal positions and weightings into the equation ...

Well done taff,i am looking for something Manuel, would even go gt4 at sensible money for now.Got a taste for a 992gt3 in Manuel ,but most are granny spec autos sadly, and as you say the overs ask is nuts.I specced a gt3 on the config, came in at around 165,i dont mind paying some overs for the right car but not 70k,and the tourings, well thats just daft asks, lots for sale and not moving.

Some prefer the 981 over the 718 so could end up with parity in the future (mark 1s always end up more than mark 2s ), never new the base price of the 718 gt4 was as low as £73k on the road, obviously everything is spec dependent etc but you are now getting a lot of cars below £90k but bargains are to be had as posted and this will only increase as many off load their toys! Just hope the dealers who were less than honest with allocations and those who bought in partnership for the overs get their fingers burnt!
Wouldn’t be surprised to see discounts on new cars as per 2009-2012!
I am off to cancel my 718BGTS order tomorrow and will sit and pick the carcass’s in the not so distant future.
I have never seen so many P cars for sale on the approved site nearly 1700 now!!
