Rumour has it production of the 718 GT4 is stopping this summer and all OPCs will have had their final allocations by now. So unless someone cancels an order you may struggle to get a build slot. You're probably better of buying used unless production continues.

I would go in person the OPC you want to use and have a chat with them.

Hi guys,

I’ve been following this thread for a while but this it my first post.

I’m trying to upgrade from a bmw to Porsche and I would really want a GT4…I know the ship has probs sailed but I’m wondering would I be able to secure one? When are they stopping production of GT4? I have zero buying history from Porsche

Also…I’ve seen a couple of guys here have gotten their allocations recently. Would be great if you can share with us your journey/ buying history to securing the GT4. Can DM me if you’d rather keep it private but I’m really interested.

Thanks ????
Your best bet is to contact a number of OPC (All groups ie Sytner, JCT 600 , Jardine etc)and tell them what you are looking for, you may or not get a cancelled slot it’s a gamble others have had success!
Alternative they may point you in the direction of a nearly new car (that has been flipped I mean moved on) that has less than 1k miles but this going to cost you a few £k over list, list being total original cost not AV185s version of list so you are looking at around £100k as these are usually heavily optioned! But there have been lesser spec. cars cheaper ie no CS or Bucket seats.
Good luck in your hunt

Rumour has it production is being ramped to fill allocations of all models with an increase of 20% deliveries to the UK, plus with the rise in interest rates he might have better luck than a year ago!

Bit pricey, similar price to cars that have sold with Buckets and CS!

Can’t argue with it being pricey, but must of the nearly new cars with buckets and CS are now sold, and these option have not to be available to order for the last few months so it looks like the market moving up again now we approaching spring again.
But I could be wrong and the dealer might just be trying his luck with it being the only 2023 car advertised?

There are definitely unallocated slots around at quite a few dealer groups. However it’s not as easy as just walking in and placing a deposit. GT4 allocations are a cash cow for the dealers who love to “sell” highly specified cars to preferred customers who then trade them in again against another desirable allocation. Cars are then marketed at over list, double bubble for the dealer. Market is kept artificially high and the only looser is the Porsche buyer who genuinely wants to use his car. Quite a few of these cars never appear on Porsche Approved Used website they are sold without being listed.
Roll on the market finally softening enough to make this horrible practice non viable and we can all go back to normal (loosing money hand over fist laugh

Not sure that'll apply to the 718 GT4 if it's being discontinued wink

Here here, only losers will be the dealers and the winners will be the loyal Porsche fans who have been shafted over the last 4/5 years over allocations!

Hi all.

Up in Fife in Scotland and had my new racing yellow pdk GT4 for just over a month now and nibbling away at accumulating running in miles before giving it the beanzzz.. Previous car was a maual GTS 4.0 and am slowly discovering the two cars are fairly chalk and cheese...mebes amplified by the new car being pdk.

Absolutely loving it and planning on keeping it for the long haul.....its main worth so far being the miles of smiles. smile

Not so the Dunlops. Had PS4s fitted to suit my expected use of the car prior to taking delivery, so the 20ish mile Dunlops will be going should anyone have any interest in them.

I got an allocation recently, but I was on a waitlist for more than a year and put down a speculative deposit last summer. My salesman tells me their last GT4 allocations locked a couple of weeks ago and they're not expecting anymore.

That means your best shot is a car that's been ordered but then rejected on delivery. There will almost certainly be a few of these going!

Hi buddy,

Im also in Fife, i have a 718 gt4 red cs. Might see you around. Im always kicking around in it.

The cup2s are fine in my opinion for most days, they are great in the dry but not horrendous in the rain. I toured all round Scotland in all weather's with them.

That’s mad £14k over list…tbh I’m looking for nice specced ones like LED PDLS and carbon bucket seats

You reckon prices will go down in one/ two years time?

Congrats!!! It’s nice to hear people are still getting allocations now. Have you got a deep history with your SA?

It seems like the best way to go is to try for the cancelled orders…I know Porsche has a few direct dealerships (like Reading and London Mayfair). Higher chance of getting a slot from then you reckon?

Oooh that's interesting I was just going to post to see if anyone had a call from the dealers I was told the next batch of allocations at Leeds was due in April. 8 other people had refused the boggo specs in January though so will see what happens.

It's usually a 2-3 month lead time from allocation to build, so they would be for June/July builds and if production is ending this summer then they would be the very last allocations. Some of the word on the street is that allocations are already all done so please let us know what happens smile

Yeah would be great if it comes off in all honesty I'm not really that bothered. I'm at a stage at the moment where I would need to sell at least one car to make space for it and It would be a very hard decision to decide which one! First world probles and all that.
