I like comment about residuals then you spec python green? Its a marmite colour and you will limit your buying market when you come to sell .yes an opc will take it but at trade values.
They are having trouble selling the release colours of the 718 lava orange and miami blue.
The yellow 981 gts on sale at a dealer took ages to sell and was reduced quite a bit.
If its a keeper then no worries.
That’s why I am asking for advice Ted. What colour would have the highest residuals in your opinion? I was planning on getting Python in the GTS but also love Gentian and Miami Blue. They are having trouble selling the release colours of the 718 lava orange and miami blue.

I think Python Green on GT4 will be desirable. It’s a GT car they carry the bright colours so much better than a standard car....I’d stay away from Racing Yelloe as it’s too bright but go for it. I am not really a fan of Miami Blue but have seen it on a Spyder and thought it looked superb. Caveat I have a Lave Orange GT3 so am biased....
Thanks I agree and Python will be rarer. Is the GT4 good as a daily driver and how does it handle speed bumps? Going to cancel GTS Boxster today and lock down GT4 but want to make sure it’s the right choice...Tony718 said:
Is the GT4 good as a daily driver ..
that's the hardest question in the world to answer.some people think PDK = daily
some will say it's way too hard for a daily
some will say it way too low as a daily
some will say buckets are a pain for a daily
some will say it is my daily no issue.
if you wanted a GTS Boxster, I am not sure why you would look at a GT4 ?
GTS Boxster is the sweet spot in the range imo, YOU HAVE to WANT a GT car , not want it because it harder to get and looks cool as **** :-)

All very true but mileage will be fairly limited in the week and mostly a weekend car. Maybe a better question for similar money would you go for a Boxster GTS 4.0 or GT4 manual? Residuals on GT4 should be much better I guess? some people think PDK = daily

I’ve always wanted a GT car but couldn’t get a dealer to give me an allocation until I got lucky yesterday as a friend cancelled his order. I ordered a Boxster as great engine and soft top would be fun but GT4 would be a keeper for many years. some people think PDK = daily

As 911R says, you have to really want a GT car for road use as indeed I did. It's very much a heart over head choice unless you're a serious track goer. Worrying about buckets and speeed bumps means a GTS is probably more up your street, but the choice is yours of course.
Another issue with the GT4 as a daily are the Cup2 tyres. I got caught in a thunderstorm and torrential rain in mine last night for a short while and it was like driving on the ice hill at PEC
As someone said on here once that has stuck with me, buy the car for the type of driving you actually do not the type you'd like to do.
"Residuals on GT4 should be much better I guess?"
don't make that the ruler of the car you want.
only you know what you want, I am not voicing what I would buy as Porsche don't make it so prob won't buy any new.
I thought my GT4 was a pain to daily, but I did it for a bit.
2nd hand I would like a white 4.0l GTS Boxster with older style folding buckets, but that's will be as rare as a rare thing to get.
good shout on the cups above, as while you can use them in the rain in summer and slow down a bit, once below 5oc and it rains you will die :-)

Thanks for all your help with this. I was worried about speed bumps as have lots of my road and don’t want to scrape the bumper. Are the cup 2 tyres really that bad? This car will be mostly driven on road rather than be a track car. Worrying about buckets and speeed bumps means a GTS is probably more up your street, but the choice is yours of course.

Speed bumps are a minor issue, a bigger issue are slopes e.g. driveways, petrol station approaches, multi storey car park ramps etc. The GT4 is low, with a long nose. Scrapes are inevitable on the underside of the nose and on the brake ducts, they're going to happen, but you run the risk of getting stuck if the slopes are steep. No such issues with a GTS.Cup2s are not all-round tyres, they're sunny days and light rain tyres. My car is weekend use/fun only and rarely goes out between late Nov and early Feb as the temperatures are too low. I would not recommend using Cup2s in winter or when there's a lot of standing water.
You can swap them for PS4Ss which will be much better of course, but that's £1000 on tyres for a brand new car.

Yes, maybe, no, maybe, not sure, kind of, I think so.....
Ha ha...glad I am not the only one who can’t make up my mind. Was all set on Boxster GTS in Python and then GT4 opportunity came along. GT4 monthly finance payments also less due to a higher residual although know overall interest will be higher. Twinfan said:

I imagine it's these hateful things which will cause the most issues? Cup2s are not all-round tyres, they're sunny days and light rain tyres. Going to treat the front diffuser and brake ducts as consumables anyway...
