Hmm. I included the photo of the stripes as I didn't recall seeing them earlier (although I was looking at shinier bits than radiators at that point in the day).
I'll update further when I hear from the garage on Monday - it wasn't a little steam that was coming out it was a full metric stload...

Let us know - sorry to hear this.I'll update further when I hear from the garage on Monday - it wasn't a little steam that was coming out it was a full metric stload...
EJH, mine (981) lets steam come up sometimes causing the view to be obscured. I think it is water in the front spoiler big driven up onto the fans. Always a surprise when it happens, no coolant loss and passes quite quickly. Hope yours is just a big case of this and not a rad failure.
The car is confirmed to be okay...and back home. It would have been avoided if the dealer advised of this "characteristic," as I, my wife and Porsche Assist all merrily shat ourselves at the symptoms displayed.
Anyway, it's here and I can't wait until I have time to actually use it. Early signs are that it might be quite good:
(and yes, I do need to paint my garage walls - life has got in the way of getting around to it)

It opens properly when clicked on (Thumbsnap and I struggle to get on well with each other)It's a 1988 3.2 cabrio that I bought by accident following a chat at a BBQ in 2006. My wife is, clearly, overjoyed that we have 2 Porsches for the (very low) annual mileage we do!
