I’ve been told that mine is definitely May build and it’s the only one my (small) OPC is going to get. I’ve paid a deposit and specified the car, order form signed etc etc. so fairly confidentsmile
What colour combo did you go with? My Mrs have gone for the black with black roof, but knowing her that could change when it comes to spec time. So far i have paid £3000 for the slot.

I've done all that, just no actual build slot defined yet. So as you, expecting May build June delivery.

I’ve gone Silver, red hood, black interior. I just don’t have the balls to go for the full slaughterhouse interior, it is the proper choice but it’s just soooooo much red. Even the steering wheel is red for gods sake! Just considering whether to add the silver stitching. Other than that I’ve ticked quite a few boxes. PDK, Burmester, Ventilated seats, camera, all the usual little bits. Staying on steels love the black calipers for free smile
Probably keep the Spyder for a bit and then decide which one to keep.

I reckon they will be delayed with the present issues. The normal Gts is being quoted 2022 delivery

I think that's already been factored in from what the dealer said. They are confident of inital builds May/June but second lot could be later in year.

I've gone silver, red hood, red interior. Wouldn't be my usual choice but seemed a shame not to try it.

Lack of semi conductors is causing a huge production issue . VW are quoting 30 week deliveries for its cars.

Considering the car has only just been released I think it fair to assume Porsche have factored in their supply issues when they've dished out the allocations and told OPCs when to expect the build. I think the delays in the GTS4.0 are actually likely to have been caused by the Boxster 25 i.e. OPCs guestimate their allocations but wouldn't have been aware of Porsche's plans to put a run of 1250 specials in to the production schedule. Doing so in effect delays standard GTS4.0 slots whilst they build out the 25s. That'd be my guess in anycase.

The semi connector issue has come to light in the last month.
Porsche will be subject to this too as if you cant get supplies you cant build the cars.
Honda have stopped production already for a few days because of this.
Its a big difference getting an allocation and actually building the car . You will find it will be certain cars that get delayed ie waiting for parts like auto cars were delayed after the tsunami in Japan a few years back as lack of semi conductors then.
Customers who have already have orders in place across the car range are having there dates pushed back.

The Boxster 25 was only announced on the 12th of Jan, after the article you've highlighted.

Obviously I don't know the ins and outs of Porcshe supply chain, maybe your right, I'll wait and see.

Allocation and acceptance of order is different to getting it built.
Vw golf r customers who ordered their cars in December are being told wait at least 30 weeks for delivery , was 12 weeks.
You only have to read through the threads on here customers who have their orders in and expecting delivery haven't even been given a build date yet.
As said it will be a wait and see?

No allocation as yet but I've been told first cars will be built in May/June slots. There was a suggestion that there will be two batched, one May/June build with the others Sept/Oct build. I'd have thought they'd build them all at the same time but what do I know.
Interesting, as I've been told mine should be a July build!

Thats the bit i dislike , this should be quote. They are fully aware of the production problems but dont seem to pass this info onto to the customer.
Would you still buy a car if you knew that you had tk wait a year?

Waited longer than a year before, so yes.
Was going to buy a 4.0 GTS and quoted '22 delivery so would have waited for that. Have had the current Boxster S for 7 years since new in March '14 so another year is no hardship.

Taking all the above into account I would have thought that as this year is the 25th anniversary they would probably want to deliver the cars this year in order to maximise on the occasion notwithstanding the supply issues with chips. Whether that means these cars will be prioritised over a GTS is up for speculation but might be one reason that people are being told their GTS orders have been pushed back to later this year/early next. Again, taking into account the supply chain issues/covid etc.

I suspect that I like others have been told we've got one coming based on the overall allocations Head Office in Reading has been told its getting for the UK and possibly filtered down to individual dealers likely allocations but until the actual build slots are allocated there is no certainty for anyone.

Yes you cant release a 25 year edition after 26 years biggrin
Bit of a poke in the eye for customers who placed orders before them though?

This one will never go on track it’s a road car only. The only justification left for me is the clean wheels! At £5K I can afford to clean the wheels from time to time, helpful is that the 25 wheels look easy to clean smile
