That's an awful GFV - but we'd need to see all the figures to establish why? What's the deposit and monthlies?

'Kin hell!

Really?

That seems ridiculous for a Boxster to me. Maybe I'm just getting old and skint.

What the thoughts on buying one out right? And keeping it for say 3 years?

If OPC are saying £40k after 3 years, you know they are going to be worth £50k at least after that period.

I did a quick spec for a GTS to about the same price our 25 Edition will be and this is the result. If you reduce the deposit to 10% the monthly's jump to just over £1200. I think I'm going to stick with paying cash.

Porsche Financial Services must be thinking the world is going to end if they have a GFV of £36k on a 4.0 GTS. And an APR of 5.9% is very cheeky!

I presume they don't want to do PCP or VAG bank are pulling in their credit lines.

The finance on the 25 edition works out a lot better I think then ? Total payable on mine is £86k
And I’m borrowing £16000 more.

What i was getting at is if i pay £78k (no finance) surely a Ltd edition car of only 1250 and only 100 in the UK should hold its money better than a GTS??

That's probably what we're all hoping but it won't be reflected in the finance quote for those buying that way. The assumption will be that the depreciation curve will be similar to the GTS regardless of exclusivity/desirability. Best bet is to use it, enjoy it and worry about the retained value if and when you decide to sell.

Maybe that's why we're seeing a number of them still unallocated at the OPC's!! £1100 a month whilst a Spyder is around £450 - 500 per month at a similar list price. Porsche obviously think the value is going to be no better (or worse) than a GTS even though it's limited numbers car.

I think I'll get it confirmed by my OPC as I have spec'd a 992 Turbo and that is £1200 per month and a Turbo S is £1400. If I have to pay £1100 for a Boxster25 I think I'd push to find the extra £300 and have a £175k supercar performance car.

I just cant understand why anyone would pay £1400 a month on a car!

I do agree and I know what you say, it is an obscene amount of money, but the Turbo S is a £175k car versus £1,100 on an £80k Boxster. If that is the real quote for a Boxster25, I will be handing the allocation back to the dealer as there's a lot of other cars around for that money and less.

All just my POV and there is no right and wrong as people have different reasons and choices for their cars.

I change my cars way too frequently and just try to control the payments and minimise the depreciation.

To compare you have to say what the length of term.is and the deposit as its not just a case of £300 a month.

I dont do finance on cars,so i dont really understand a lot of what the guys are talking about with regards to £1100 a month? I cant believe the amount of money people will get into debt for to buy a car. Oh well each to there own.

Exactly this the 1200 a month for the 25 boxster is with a 3000 pound deposit. With the larger deposit mentioned earlier I’m sure it would be 500 or 600 a month

My current 991.2 Turbo S is around £110k car and around £540 per month with circa £80k financed by PFS. Hence why I personally would struggle with spending £1200 on £70k financing on a Boxster25.

Like I said I am not passing any judgement just my own thoughts. I change my cars way too much and most people think I am mad, but I really enjoy different cars and the fun of sourcing and finding the right vehicle for my want at that time. Drives my wife mad but she likes driving them too! 😂
