Agree sound is a massive part of the fun. But the GT4 engine does sit right behind you though, onc3 you fettle with that is pretty loud. Not sure the RS will sound better than TDT's 981 GT4.
I don't think the GT4 RS will sound as good as TDT's GT4 from outside the car. From what I've read/heard the RS is extremely loud inside due to the position of the intakes.
I've just realised that I've broken my own rule on wasting my breath talking about a car which is unobtainable for genuine enthusiasts.!

Copying this across from another thread as I think it’s relevant here.

drive.com.au said:
Andreas Preuninger, the director of Porsche’s GT division, told Drive the Porsche Cayman GT4 RS is “not a limited car.”

“Everyone who wants one, should get one. We asked every region how many they think they can sell … and then we added 30 per cent to have some safety (margin). That’s why we say everybody who orders one should get one.”

Source.
There’s some speculation on other Porsche-focused forums that the current small number of allocations is due to general supply chain disruption, and the scramble to replace cars lost when the Felicity Ace sank, and that supply will increase significantly in ‘23 and ‘24.

Well I look forward to my OPC / salesperson phoning me up to say that they will accept my specification after all ... 2024 would be fine.

Bizarrely he only gave it 4 out of 5!! This farming malarkey has clouded his judgement.

From the historic “hater” of Porsches this is an excellent and funny review. Pity they aren’t going to churn out 750 for the UK market…now I am off to my lowly 981 to tell it that I still love it but it might need a few more tweaks….

errr you have missed out the truth in the article, which goes on to say...

'However, based on previous demand for the Porsche Cayman GT4, it’s likely the allocation for the RS edition could soon be exhausted'

...therefore 'that’s why we say everybody who wants one wont get one.'

Preuninger didn’t say that. That’s the drive.com.au writer’s opinion.

His word is meaningless when it comes to the operations and fulfilment part of the business. That’s not his wheelhouse.

He said the exact same thing about the GT4 and the order book is closed on that dispute PH forum folk wanting to order one….so go figure.

If you really think everyone that wants a GT4RS will get one then I admire your optimism.

His word isn’t meaningless if you don’t live in a market with the wheel on the wrong side and a profitability and currency headwind if you are trying to make money in Germany.

In any case, as the GT figurehead and chief marketing persona he’s not likely to say otherwise, is he?

If there is going to be available slots then give them to current gt4 owners. The dealers will get 2 sales for the price of one!
I’ll put a kidney on organbay for that package

Certainly helps having a GT car to pass back to the dealer. Also, I’d venture to say it’s fair enough selling the likes of the GT4RS to guys who have bought a GT car before. But be even better if they sold them to people who actually use there cars as well rather than leaving them lying under a cover.

Fin, I did 300 miles the weekend, is that enough?
Also by giving to current gt4 owners it shows they are committed to those who like the platform. I’ve had cayman since 2007! Non of that 911 4x4 malarkey for me

I see base price for this car has gone up around £4000.
I wonder if this is it or will there be another rise later
in the year?

Thread resurrection time :

Who fancies the Ex Press car that did all the tests, trackwork and reviews ??

Available at Ashgoods : https://www.ashgood.co.uk/vehicle-details/used-por...

14k miles and I`ll wager , hard miles at that. My sources tell me its a bit st (which is why no OPC will retail it) but I expect it has been prepp`d to the max. A good buy or not at that price point , still way overs on list ??
