HI
Do any of you own a manual GTS 991.2 and if so will the parking brake release on drive off ?
The handbook does not state PDK versions only.
As you will all know manual 991.2 are pretty thin on the ground and not even my local dealer could answer my question.
The PDK version definitely does.

I don't have a 991.2 but I did test drive a manual (not a GTS) and the brake was set to auto engage by salesman, until half way through the drive when I switched it off, so must release automatically - or the car has more torque than I expected smile

Yeah it does, but you may need to put seatbelt on before it automatically disengages (i just normally keep mine parked in gear)

Are you referring to a manual car?
I noticed in handbook it mentions having seat belt on for it to work

Yep, it does auto release, only when the seatbelt is plugged in

Thank you all for your help but could I be a pain and ask that someone who has a manual 991.2 makes a statement that there car handbrake auto releases on drive off.
If someone could do this I can go back to Porsche with it as evidence.

I’ve got a manual 991.2 gts and handbrake does automatically release provided you have the seatbelt on

It does release, when you drive off, but you need to be go off gently. I’d definitely prefer an old fashioned handbrake, but there you go.

Thank you so much guys I have something to go back to Porsche with now.
They actually went on the forums themselves but were unable to find anything out.

It’s not even that intuitive ie it’s the opposite to what you expect it to do ie push rather than pull to engage

True - think of it as a brake pedal, push on - pull off.

I rarely use it to be honest, but it does auto deploy and release as part of the hill start control. In the garage I just leave it in gear
