I was told today by my OPC that all cars have now been allocated and there will be no more. Is this what others are hearing?

I asked.... but with my status the conversation didn't even get that far. Doesn't seem like there is a shortage of them about though.

Am not an expert but suspect that all cars that the dealer has been allocated have been allocated to customers, however that doesn't stop Porsche from allocating further cars to the dealers as I get the impression they'll still be building them through this year

I was advised you can no longer order standard petrol cayman and boxsters. Thought that Porsche were continuing with RS models into next year.

What I have heard is that the RS models received an exception to the Euro 7 rules due to their low volume.

I believe the base, S, GTS, 718 models are done after June in europe, but RS models will continue in low volume,

RS models will be for sale across Europe/UK as you say. The lesser variants have ceased sale in Europe but my dealer tells me they will still be sold in UK alongside the RSs into 2025. Suspect the plug will be pulled for MY 2026, but who knows really.

Anyway … back to the car.

What a fun little thing! That engine in a relatively small and supple chassis.

I'd love to get back to the car Andrew, I'd like to get one.

But yeah, I bet its amazing, its the only thing I'd sell my 997 for.

Premiums are coming down then. That is similar to the spec of car that I was interested in until I fell out with my 4RS and stopped chasing an allocation. My spec was about £165K plus the OTR stuff so say £170K all in. Circa £35K premium.
Once I had played the all the obligatory allocation games it would have cost me about the same as this.

I would have thought you already qualified as a 'special' customer given your history, or do the dealers try to keep you on the hook for life?

On a side note, I'm considering the Gen 2 facelift (2019 onwards) Audi R8 for my next car but the downside is the factory exhaust strangles the V10 sound. I saw you've extensively modified yours for the better and wanted to know if you had any experience of good aftermarket exhaust systems?

I know the Top Gear exhausts sound pretty incredible on an R8, not stupid money either. I have one on my 997.

OT I know sorry! Mine has the factory specified sports exhaust that was fitted from new when I ordered the car. 2018 so no PPF. It sounds fantastic in full noise mode, but is excellent in quiet mode for discrete moments. It’s by far the best factory fit sports exhaust I’ve ever had. It is quite complex in that it has 3 levels of noise. Comfort is the quiet mode. Dynamic is the loud mode which I suspect still complies with drive by regulations as it’s reasonably quiet at low revs and no pops. There is a third mode which is dynamic, with sports gearshift engaged. That is the full noise mode with crackles and pops as well and it’s bloody glorious. It’s very loud especially in the garage smile
The upside is that if it’s too noisy for a particular track then you can deactivate the full noise mode in the settings by using the personalized setting and still participate.
On a side note the exhaust gets incredibly hot, on mine you cannot touch the rear panel or rear bumper when you come off track it’s just too hot. I also saw one at Silverstone with an aftermarket exhaust which caught fire on track when the bumper melted! Probably not an issue on the road but something I would want to be sure was properly engineered if I fitted an aftermarket system.
At the ring on a trackday I knew exactly when my lad went blasting pasting the coffee shop on the Dottinger flat in 6th even though I was inside and I couldn’t see him. It sounds just like an old V10 F1 car on full chat.

£50k over list, I think there are now 6 for sale and don’t think any have sold. If more come to the uk than expected they could be at list by Xmas
That has dropped by 10% (£24k) in just over a week….seems as though prices will follow the same pattern as the GT4RS. An even more limited market I would have thought.
Another £11k off that one making a £35,000 price reduction in a month and looking at the times that the sales manager implemented the price changes they are struggling to sleep thinking about it , maybe they need to find a partner to entertain themselves with in the early hours and help stabilise SRS prices .

I wouldn’t hold your breath on that one!

Appears most are sitting in showrooms or on AT trying, unsuccessfully, to be flipped.
The rare genuine owner probably has his/her car sitting in their garage awaiting sunnier times.

Thanks for posting those numbers - is that through at AT trade login?
