They must have been offsetting the profit in the spyder. The trade to retail spread with an OPC is usually £10k. So if he was offered anything £70k+ that’s generous.
If the GT4 is mint and can go straight into an OPC showroom I’d ring a few dealerships. They were actively buying stock last year but I suspect eased off now. Those online WBAC like portals are a waste of time for here cars. Give Joe at Supercar Sourcing a call. He buys and has customers waiting for certain models.

Happy to pm you the direct contact details of the jct600 porsche trade buyer who I sold my shark blue pdk 718 gt4 to last year. Sold a few cars to him over the years. Always found him very helpful.
GLWTS
that would be great, many thanks.GLWTS
I've been making some enquiries recently about p/x my 981 GT4 at a couple of OPCs.
As a guide i'd say find whatever they have for sale that looks like your car and knock 10-15k off.
East London were very helpful and sent me a screenshot of a WBAC valuation at 44k. That was the end of that conversation.

If it’s a Clubsport I’d be interested As a guide i'd say find whatever they have for sale that looks like your car and knock 10-15k off.

I achieved about 8k more than a trade px offer for mine by selling privately. Lots of cars for sale Currently and the drop on 718 GT4 is quite pronounced As a guide i'd say find whatever they have for sale that looks like your car and knock 10-15k off.

This post has really helped so thx for all submissions both public and pm - I’ve concluded that I’ll keep mine as I’m not taking a significant needless loss. I have a first world problem for which I’m very grateful - I either buy a nice restored ‘72 911T and keep the GT4 or sell it and buy a superb original ‘72 911S…..neither is a hardship tbh :-)

An OPC trade buyer tried a similar “WBAC are about as good as it gets” ploy initially when buying back my 18 month old Cayman 2.0. It turned out they actually wanted the car, and within 10 minutes the conversation had changed quite a bit. You can’t really blame them, I bet they are incentivised on the difference between buying and selling prices. This is probably not the right time of year for them to really be feeling it…East London were very helpful and sent me a screenshot of a WBAC valuation at 44k. That was the end of that conversation.

Just for a bit of balance, I sold a BMW M135I via Carwow a couple of weeks back and the dealer came over checked the car and paid the price straight into my account. Easy transaction and more money than I was expecting, more than Carlow suggested more than Motorway and more than WBAC. In this market a very positive result. Shows each case is different you cannot make across the board decisions based on one transaction.
Also another contact worth a call is Geoff Wong who is a buyer for Dick Lovett based at Porsche Bristol.
I also had a very positive experience with Carwow earlier this year, I sold my 2014 Range Rover Sport for £4k more than WBAC were offering, the dealer came 1 week later, payed the money into my account and left all with in 1/2 hour of arriving. Also another contact worth a call is Geoff Wong who is a buyer for Dick Lovett based at Porsche Bristol.
He also sold it on 1 week later for £4k more....so win win all-round really.
Sub £60k now. A lot of car for the money. Great colour. Private sale so I suspect a bit of movement on price.

Hey guys, when do you think the best time to buy will be? I have wanted a PDK GT4 for quite a while and think the time maybe coming up.
I don't think you can go wrong in now or in Jan, the market isn't crashing, its just removing the covid inflation and getting back to normal, They won't keep dropping but will be cheaper than they used to be over the last few years.I agree, and now well track and race proven ... much cheaper fun than a GT3 and with the front and back boots, much more practical.
There are a lot of tuning options as well ...
I looked yesterday at the "best value" GT4RS I could find and it had £34k of extras, most of which were fripperies ... at £165k, more than £100k more than the suggested car and how much more fun ?
More like how much more risk if a person plans to use it on track ... and how much uselessly faster if planning to use it on the road? ... but still nice

GT4 really is a sweet spot for performance, fun, practically and cost/value - and lots of good deals to be had now for 981 and 718.
Mine is in the shop for winter refresh..
All it needs is new pads, air filters and transmission oil flush.
Had trays and bumper taken off for a checkover and clean out.
Some new boots going on and then she’s ready for start of 2024 season.
PCGB trackday prices are somewhat ‘remarkable’ however, so I'll be back on the continent and other UK TDOs for most days.

Look forward to joining you next year on some track days in the german family wagon haha.
Agreed on the P trackday prices ... I've booked the seven I wanted ... two of them taking older cars to open their gills and keep them going well ... for the other five I'll be using the GT4. £3k !!
I've found Javelin to be very good ... I've a credit with RMA ... ???
981 v. 718 ? The extra power of the 718 is good and would cost £10k ish to add to a 981, ... it is quite a lot heavier with some unwanted items such as the particulate filter, but the only choice if you want PDK and for flat changes and gearing that could be worth 10% over a manual ?? Less involving on the road but ???
I have far too much invested in my 981 but I can't complain about the total depreciation for the eight years of fun that I've had ... and it is a sorted car which is as cheap to run as any in this performance category ... and much cheaper than most to "put at risk"

Wow, I was expecting the mileage to be considerably more given the price!https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202311214...
5 owners I guess, including the track day company.
