I don't think you can go wrong in now or in Jan, the market isn't crashing, its just removing the covid inflation and getting back to normal, They won't keep dropping but will be cheaper than they used to be over the last few years.

I agree, and now well track and race proven ... much cheaper fun than a GT3 and with the front and back boots, much more practical.

There are a lot of tuning options as well ...

I looked yesterday at the "best value" GT4RS I could find and it had £34k of extras, most of which were fripperies ... at £165k, more than £100k more than the suggested car and how much more fun ?

More like how much more risk if a person plans to use it on track ... and how much uselessly faster if planning to use it on the road? ... but still nice smile
Totally agree with both of these lads!.

GT4 really is a sweet spot for performance, fun, practically and cost/value - and lots of good deals to be had now for 981 and 718.

Mine is in the shop for winter refresh..

All it needs is new pads, air filters and transmission oil flush.
Had trays and bumper taken off for a checkover and clean out.
Some new boots going on and then she’s ready for start of 2024 season.

PCGB trackday prices are somewhat ‘remarkable’ however, so I'll be back on the continent and other UK TDOs for most days.

Agree and the 718 is looking like a better buy right now and subjectively the "better" all round car.

Look forward to joining you next year on some track days in the german family wagon haha.
U boys keep luvin and justifying yer Gt4,we all know they are just a stop gap until yer next 911smile

I just looked at pcgb track days, prices are nuts.Lotus on track do some great days including spa at sensible cost and well run.

Second the LoT recommendation, have done a few days with them and they are extremely well ran with a great bunch of drivers.

They have certainly made me very welcome when I've booked with them. My only problem was noise at Zolder ... not their fault !!

5 owners I guess, including the track day company.

I know someone who’s looking at this car so any info on this is appreciated

Sub £60k now. A lot of car for the money. Great colour. Private sale so I suspect a bit of movement on price.

I haven’t looked very carefully, but did I notice no climate control, and plastic dashboard? I think those might be contributing to the value for money, so if you don’t want those, probably a good time to “fill yer boots”.

I think I did Spa with them with you many years ago when you had your Cayman R? Had a px lap in it, very nearly puked.

Was a double header Spa/Zandvoort. Had an interesting beer/curry trip into Haarlem, lovely place.

Agreed on the P trackday prices ... I've booked the seven I wanted ... two of them taking older cars to open their gills and keep them going well ... for the other five I'll be using the GT4. £3k !!

I've found Javelin to be very good ... I've a credit with RMA ... ???

981 v. 718 ? The extra power of the 718 is good and would cost £10k ish to add to a 981, ... it is quite a lot heavier with some unwanted items such as the particulate filter, but the only choice if you want PDK and for flat changes and gearing that could be worth 10% over a manual ?? Less involving on the road but ???

I have far too much invested in my 981 but I can't complain about the total depreciation for the eight years of fun that I've had ... and it is a sorted car which is as cheap to run as any in this performance category ... and much cheaper than most to "put at risk" smile
I've been out of the game since Covid Chris, I sold the Radical and the GTS moved house and had to kids in that time! But i looked at track days and from premium vendors I used to run with they were a bit of a shock! However I ran the Radical with RMA mostly and I liked their overtake both sides rule and it worked. I also used OpenTrack who people would consider a lower end vendor and I found the track manners and etiquette much better than some more expensive ones.

I was just comparing the 981 vs 718 as in terms of price, if the gaps gets closer, naturally you would start thinking. I'm still in the 981 camp, cant believe TDT went to the darkside biggrin

See it was easy haha. BMW M2 Competition.

Its a great car but I've struggled enjoying the engine after being mostly an NA guy, but I am getting used to it. Its not standard (exterior is), I had Ohlins but gone to KW now, adjustable top mounts etc, rsl29s, lines, fluid. Its a manual and has a CAE ultra shifter and Cobra made me a Nogaro bucket and matched with rest of the interior as I kept the OEM passenger seat so if I want people in the back I still can. Its got a big boot too. Litchfield did a great job with the the map, its so linear and punches to the redline 530hp/530lbft, and its very useable on PS4S let alone CUP2. Feels light and aglie and very playful on corner entry and exit, im guessing thats down to the short wheelbase, and the turn is very quick. Making some chassis tweaks, over the winter, want to ensure its useable road car as well as fun / track toy. Just resisting buying a set of AP brakes for it at the mo!

It's no GT4, but i needed back seats and a boot on the odd occasion or so I thought, but right now I'm enjoying it and tinkering.

No, sorry, joking. Apologies if it is anyone on here selling. I'd certainly be doing my due diligence on this or any other though.
