Yep..had the same failure. Something fell on the ledge and creased it which caused it to lift and it came right away.
Definitely double sided tape.

Well I’m not paying £150 I’ll see if the body shop can spray the carrier part black - might look nice. I can’t see any on eBay to buy either.

Can a local firm put a vinyl wrap film on the part which is left behind?

You could even give it a go yourself, plenty of colour choices, black being just one:

Tyre price is good, black circles? Stereo is a hard one, there is no mid market cheaper unit from Alpine / Kenwood etc they all seem about £1k but you can get an adapter at £500 to stream to. Nothing seems good value.

This is the answer, as long as you use an iPhone. 6" Capacitative screen (like a smartphone, not the type you have to press really hard), Apple Maps or Waze to navigate, DAB and all the same sound / music / eq functions as their top of the range F88DAB that I have in my other car

I just installed the previous model that is £300 & a load of new amp / speaker stuff in my 987 - awesome transformation

Do you need a BOSE / MOST adapter with this?

If you're keeping the Bose amp & speakers you'll need the £200 Connects2 adapter
But given that a very good amp can be had for £250 it doesn't make sense to me really to pay that much to retain something that isn't very good

Quick update on this, the car is still with me it’s faultless and feels solid plus it’s worth nothing in trade in and I just can’t chop such a good car in.
I still can’t find a surface mount fixer for the back light which has lost 12 of 20 leds and the very light whispering when power on annoys me (indie and opc say normal) .
I’m really impressed with it but hanker after a last of the line LR322 RR which will probably hand grenade at 80k!
My wife won’t drive it so I’ve made an exec decision I’ll run it over winter and chop it just before a major service is due in March - that’s it decided!

Approaching a year in mine too. It's had a major service including plugs and coil packs as well as two new front tyres and it passed the MOT with no advisories. Cheap motoring indeed.

Dave, I'm sure you could find a tasty L322 Westminster!

I 'accidentally' bought a 2005 955 last week when I went to view a 325 estate - the BMW had sold but the Porker was parked next to it and wifey fell in love!

A couple of test drives later and it was on it's way home with us. 3.2 2005/127k miles - 1 owner from new, full history with lots and lots of receipts, it has just had new brakes (discs and pads) all round, major service 3,000 miles ago - new air-con fan, new coil packs and plugs last year, and some other bits'n'bobs. Found out the previous owner was a millionaire so anything that went wrong was simply put right, sadly I'm not a millionaire so hope not too much goes wrong but it has a 12 month warranty so I'm hoping I'll be covered!

It looks like an honest car, it's been a family hack for 13 years so has a few signs of wear and the odd scratch outside here and there, but could be described as 'immaculate' for a car of it's age. Wheels are a bit pitted so I might get them re-furbed otherwise the plan is to run it for as long as it will keep going. No signs of paint touch ups or overspray anywhere, including the corners of the bumpers which for a 13 y/o bus is a surprise. It was a Porsche demo so has lots of extras including the Porsche Sat-Nav and an exterior 'black pack' which makes it 'gangsta' - perfect for a middle aged, white office worker!

I am amazed how well it drives, I've owned 4x4's in the past and on the road this is in a league of it's own - happy to be thrown into corners with no body roll, and exits exactly where you point it!

I'm hoping I won't be posting any horror stories in the near future, so far extremely happy - but then I've only filled it up twice....!

Yep, they really are quite remarkable cars for their size. I've got a 2003 4.5S - stick it in manual gear change, set the suspension to sport and it's far more fun down a twisty road than it should be.
Mine has cost nothing other than tyres for the last 3 years or so (had it since 2013) but has started leaking from the radiator. It's due to be fixed next week - since it appears the car was built around the radiator, it's a relatively cheap part but 7 hours labour. frown

I’ve found a Range Rover the Cayenne is getting chopped in for a pittance to go to the auctions.

You'll be spending £7k on that RR too before long... Good luck. smile

RR has a 2 year inchcape warranty, not advertised the Cayenne but might try a cheeky trader / ebay advert. It has air / sports ex / black pack / hot seats and swivel lights so might appeal to someone.

I'd have taken it off you at £7k without thinking twice. Loved my 2003 Turbo. Currently X5'ing it and no real complaints.

I'm over the moon with it (so far), there is also something slightly cool about driving an older Porker.........can't quite put my finger on it but feel quite smug sitting behind the wheel!
