Dipping my toes into the Porsche world here for the first time, so this may be a stupid question

Does Porsche offer any discount on list prices?
Generally no is the answer.

When I was looking a couple of years ago, no chance on a Macan, although there was a vague hint that a very small deal might be possible on a heavily optioned top of the range Turbo...........

I moved away from looking at a Macan, and was considering one of the run-out Platinum edition Cayenne's instead as they were adding 'free' extra spec to the Platinum editions, as well as offering a few deals as well to sell the run-out models as people were holding out for the new model.
Decided against the Cayenne in the end....which I perhaps now regret....but hey ho.

So there seems to be some pretty reliable rumours that there will only be 2.0 4 banger at launch and 6 pots could be as late as middle of 2019.

Initial models coming from end of 2018 will be very limited in spec and there will be 4 trim levels with almost no custom spec options.

My own gut feeling is we won't see any 6 pots till June. I don't think they will even start production till April. All imho. Gts who knows.

It's very unlikely I will go through with my order now. Very disappointing first time I have been out of the brand since 2003.

I used to run a 2lt earlier in the year and they're great for pottering about, got my pre-order deposit down on the updated model

Anyone heard anything? Emailed the dealer yesterday but he hasn't replied. May have to get my deposit back.

I've also tried to get a test drive in a new RS4 Avant for my second option but the Audi dealer i used for my S5 "cannot get a hold of an RS4 for a test drive." What is going on? Didn't think it would be this hard to buy a new car...

Same at BMW. I spoke to local BMW dealer last week about getting a test drive in a M2 CP. I was offered a 2 mile drive in the previous M2 and when I raised the points about them being very different cars I was given "Its a prestigious car in high demand so I don't know when we will have a demo, I'll contact you if one comes available".

I am going with an I Pace lease now. Will leave the macan order ticking along till they confirm whats happening but they only have themselves to blame for this.

Yeah started playing around with it. The dealer told me they were expecting LEDs as standard though and a lot more. Doesn't look like it to me.... Currently up to £14k of options...

Wondering when the S or Turbo will be available....

I would have thought orders will start from some time in Jan / Feb.
I guess first cars will land April / May.

IMHO.

I know the Macan S isn't out to spec yet but on the old Macan was there any difference Bar the engines is there anything else different between the base and S or do i need to add the same options on both models?

Just found this thread

I had a deposit down (late summer) on a 2L Macan with a dealer a fair way away from any near me as they claimed I could get delivery before Xmas. I needed the car for my wife as we’ve just had our first child and I was told it would definitely come before Christmas for her.

Car was specced and delivery apparently end of November. Over the last two weeks, they’re starting to get funny and avoiding calls and emails. Eventually they start throwing out comments like “hopefully February”. Cancelled the order and deposit refunded after more than one polite request just this week.

First time dealing with Porsche and I would say my experience with both dealers has been poor. I walked out of the local one near me as the salesman essentially suggested I needed to pay for the car now as I was “a long way down the list”. He also queried if I could afford the car which was amusing and prompted my wife and I to stand up and leave and get in touch with the second dealer who was a little further away.

I appreciate I’m one of many and there are games people might need to play, but I really can’t be ar$ed anymore.

Rant over!

I have had my deposit in for a long, long time. Still waiting and I reckon its going to be April / May at the very earliest.
We are just leaving our deposit there on the off chance we need it but when they come forward with an order form its most likely going to be a request for the deposit back. My only concern at the moment is they go bust in the meantime!
