Well just been to Chariots to see the above Macan and we've come back with our deposit returned.

Exterior looked perfectly fine but rear bumper edges against the rear wing weren't flush on one side. Discs had more of a lip that I'd expect at 15K miles and it's just had pads all round.

But the bit that really disappointed us was the interior, the boot carpet was completely destroyed, seats, door cards were stained, bolster was heavily worn, found so much dirt in the little gaps and mud!! Rear seats had dimples in them like dogs or something had been pressing on them.

All can be cleaned and detailed etc but the car has had a hard life enough to put us off.

Dealer was good over the phone, and returned deposit straight away.

The search continues.

I've had my 2014 petrol s for 18 months and it is fantastic. RS Spyder wheels, sports chrono, panoramic roof are the major options. If is rear biased but it wears the outside fronts quickly even with the right alignment as i do mainly low speed commutes in traffic - this is normal. Fuel economy is poor in traffic, as low as 14mpg, on the motorway more like 28-32mpg if treading lightly. rear pads have just been replaced at 30,000 miles
Thanks, wow 14 mpg in traffic, but I'm guessing if your doing very little miles it's not a concern. Rear pads at 30,000 miles, that really does re-inforce that the one we had a deposit on having new pads at 15K all round and the condition interior was had a really hard life.

Anyone envise many issues with a 50K mile Macan Turbo, FPSH, 1 Owner, I would get it inspected by Porsche and have it under warranty. As said wife does about 3K miles a year so in 3 years it would only be on 59K miles!

Apply for warranty.
Present for inspection. (£180)
Inspection may throw up work to be done, or not.
Warranty granted.

Terms, as far as I know, must be under 14 years old and not modified in any way. If >2yr old must be serviced at correct intervals.

Exclusions, as far as I know again, battery, shocks, brakes, clutch, rattles or "acoustic" faults and tyres.
Service interval being 6 months late didn't have any impact on the new car warranty. Had it in writing from OPC.

Sure, thanks.
I’ve called the dealer who have simply said that it’s got everything on the advert. I’m a little weary as one of the reviews for this dealer says the car didn’t have the spec stated. Also, the dealer is 160 miles away so keen to check the paperwork remotely before I make the journey.
Which one where you calling? I've seen one the wife really likes private but no answer, left message. Tried calling today and rejected the call. I mean what's the fking point of putting it up if you don't want to take calls.

Probably the same one. I called yesterday and a woman answered ‘Naaaah we ain’t selling it no more’.
This one only came up yesterday. All private people are not selling just advertising ffs.

Well the wife picked up her Macan from Porsche Centre Kendal on Monday. Low miles, great spec and 2 year warranty. Happy days, and yes PASM does make a huge difference, glad she got one with PASM.

Has anyone put an after market towbar on a Macan? Im thinking of getting a Radical and the Macan is a great car to tow the light Radical with. Looking for detachable but without cutting the rear diffuser. Porsche want £1800 theirs.

Cheers

If you want to keep the warranty you will need to buy their tow bar.
Well that would be warranty issues relating to any issues around the towbar only. Found some good info on Macan Forum of plenty of people doing it. Looks like I'll be sorted smile

I presume you have never been on the wrong side of an OPC warranty claim? Trust me, having owned Porsches for the best part of 20 years they can get very anal about aftermarket items fitted to the vehicle. You might be lucky and a) not need to claim or b) the dealership will turn a blind eye. However IME there is nothing worse than having your car sat at a dealer for 2 months whilst you argue it out.
Nope never had an issue even with aftermarket parts fitted and warranty claims. I'll run it past my local OPC who are really good with things like this.

Let us know how you get on J - I too have heard 'scarcely-believe' stories here on the internet and im replacing that mediocre Bose woofer with a far better quality part - may affect a front wheel bearing claim ;-)

In the States it's illegal to void a warranty for a clearly unrelated reason "Warranties on consumer products are governed in the U.S. by a Federal statute known as the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act". We may need a test case here...
I have spoken to Porsche mate, a none factory part or even a factory part added to a car from another model will not be warranted, however it will not affect claims on items which are unrelated to this part. Thats fair enough.
