Wow looks good. I was going to get the dark alloys too but went for the 21 RS alloys... I could get them sprayed grey.....

How I scoffed at the heated steering wheel option... And then it got cold and it's great first thing in the morning or with cold hands after walking the dog!

Agreed! I had it on my last car but not the current one - I miss it!

Delivery due March 2019.

Need advice on the spec

21 RS Alloys,
Pano Roof
Grey
Air Suspension
Sports Chrono
Lighting Pack
Storage options.
BOSE
Heated Seats front
Black roof rails

However I've not gone for leather or reversing camera as I prefer alacantara and also I never use reversing Cameras...

Should I of gone with leather...?

Thoughts?

Frankie
Hi Frankie, I’ve had 6 Macao’s. I love them. Best value new Porsche you can buy imo. Had 2 DS’s and 4 GTS’s. Both great. Spec is personal of course. It depends what matters to you, but Macans can be spec sensitive.

I would never spec 21s without PASM. (not sure if this now standard?) I think the 20s actually look better because you gain a better balance of tyre wall - particularly with the Spyder style wheel. AS is good for off road, but adds nothing much for road use beyond PASM. AS steals feel. Grey is a good resale colour. The roof is good if you enjoy light in the cabin, but it is not a must have - I sold all my cars with no issue having not spec’d it. Sports Chrono ? If you like driving fast well okay, but for daily use it is pointless. PTV+ makes a bigger difference than Chrono. Or have both maybe if you do press on... BOSE is a total waste of money. It does not sound better than the standard system. It also takes up useful boot space with the sub...
Full leather does make the cabin noticeably richer, I would only spec with. Reversing camera is not something I need - but it will help resale, I’d swap the lighting pack for this every day of the week. Heated seats - tick that box. Roof rails, useful if you need them? But if you don’t, they make the car look a touch tall. Darkened rear windows are popular with resale btw. LEDs and 18 way seats are awesome if cash allows...
You will love the Macan - it has such great breadth of ability. Enjoy.

The front end skipping is caused by the tyres Porsche specifies and how they act in cold weather. Any Porsche I have driven in cold weather gets that judder at parking speeds. Our Macan and Cayenne both don’t do it because they’re on winter tyres. I suspect because in Germany (amd large parts of Europe and the US) either through legislation or common sense winter tyres are the de facto choice that It’s not an issue that comes up.

I’ve had this too. However for some reason in the macans where I spec’d ptv+ it did not happen. Don’t really know why though.

Mine is skipping like a bd in this cold weather - I absolutely hate it. It ruins the car that I am otherwise delighted with - i'm by now forever thinking of ways to apply the least steering lock. It was so uncomposed today negotiating in a snowy car park - judder judder skip skip hop hop. It SO feels like the bloody chassis is bent. But its not as the car is dynamically magnificent having been set up perfectly bu Centre Gravity. Its on PS4-S fronts too (nein approved). The issue is called Ackerman as I found after I posted a thread here and on Macan forum. Its horrible and I am very shocked Porsche find this remotely acceptable.

On spec, the LED's on mine are absolutely stunning at night - makes the Xenons on my other car look like candles! They tilt up and down constantly between full beam and full dip - I think teh camera senses other cars. Missus LOVES the heated steering wheel too. The leather and alcantara seats in mine ironically help justify the hefty price of a pp Turbo - cant imagine an £80k+ car with cloth/plastic. I have 21" with PASM and it rides and handles excellently - its superb. I think PASM and air make this car - these are key.

Roll on warm weather so my tyres can flex a bit more!

Is it really noticeable? Been down to Porsche Leeds today to have a look at the green macan they’ve got in, for 60k is it something that can be lived with or annoying and is yours a facelift

Seems to be a thing across many of the cars - Panamera. Here's a vid on the Cayman https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSChYAUlnGg 911: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkzO-rHJUbI I also need to do one

I really really dislike it - feels very mechanically unsympathetic and must scrub the tyres, and of course when the car does it it has no composure - make snipping out of junction quickly quite ugly.

I think it really linked to temperatures/tyres as its never ever been this bad and I didnt ever perceive it on the 3 Macans i drove before buying.

Mine is May 2017.

I guess we’re all sensitive to different things and at varying levels.

My Audi R8 did this but because it was only at slow (walking) manoeuvring speeds it never bothered me.

Buy some winter tyres....I bought a set of winter wheels and tyres with 4K miles on them from a forum member for less than your LED lights cost

Im flogging a set of winter tyres & alloys for a 5 series - barely ever got the chance to put them on. They had so much less grip than the standard tyres too. Although better in snow and nearer zero im sure - just has never been that bad. Not a fan - well might be if I had my own 4 post lift and a thermometer and an air wrench wink

Frankie

Do you have a delivery date yet? I’m in to the dealer on Thursday to discuss pre-handover and thus, I hope, a delivery date. Looking forward to it already 😃
