Used Macan market?

Looking to sell our Macan towards the end of Feb. Anyone sold one recently, whats the market like for private sales?
Put feelers out to a couple of dealers but neither seem keen!

Is it a diesel by anychance?

Unless you have a GTS or Turbo/PP not sure theres much interest at dealers, theres currently over 100+ diesels in their network

Yes diesel.
Wbac offer seemed ok but I guess they whack the price down when you turn up ?

I’m afraid this is pretty accurate in my recent experience. I recently sold my Macan GTS, wanted it gone quickly and had multiple dealers fighting over it. When I said that one of my reasons for changing was mpg, I was then relentlessly offered multiple diesels from stock.

I’m sure it’s not a complete disaster as they are still a desirable model, but Porsche’s public move away from diesel won’t have helped their dealers with lots of diesels in stock.

Market is very slow I think. There are delivery mileage/pre-registered new Macan’s on JCT600/Sytner websites so I assume all OPC’s have got unsold new Macan’s. These tend not to show up on the main AUC site. Given there was a six month gap in production last year and its a brand new model that’s not great.

I sold our October 2017 GTS with 11,500 miles back to my OPC just before Christmas and got a really good price for it.

The Turbo and GTS seem to be in demand due to the bigger engine and higher spec as the new model is just a 2.0 at the minute.

Not in my experience. Only knocked mine down a couple of hundred quid for stone chips.

WBAC didn’t knock me down from their online quote at all. The secret is to accurately describe the car, then they have no reason to reduce the price. The guy at local WBAC told me he is frustrated with their reputation for reducing the quoted price which is necessary because 90% of sellers don’t accurately or honestly describe their car.

I sold a S model we had a few months back on piston heads, flew out the door. I priced it between trade and OPC retail.

Dealers are struggling at the mo so unless they can steal it they won’t buy it.

Good honest clean cars always sell well privately if priced fairly.

My wife was recently offered 41k trade in on her 2018 SD against a Panamera, with a similar car to hers up for 56k

I guess the new model might be causing them to worry about actual profit margin on a car like that but £15k is a lot. Most OPCs work on £7k ish on cars of £40-£60k.

Well just an update had a few trade bids all well below WBAC. So that's looking like our main option at the mo. Will be going on auto trader next week to see if I get any interest on there after that our new car arrives the first week of march so it will be down to WBAC and see what they say.

WBAC offers are only valid for 5 or 7 days I think and will quickly drop if the dealers are offering less than them ...My M2 offer dropped £3k in 7 days . Not because WBAC are doing anything wrong , they just follow the market .

They will need to widen margins to cover their overheads as they have far less volume to shift now no new diesel Macans which was the bread and butter for a dealership

Yes, Diesel sales may have slowed, but they certainly haven't stopped.
In fact, they are still loved by many, so with no current new supply, good examples should be very sought after.
