The recall reference No is AKB1 and was issued in July 2019. Its a plastic part within the park mechanism of the gear lever. If it fails the car can roll away when the car is in "park" so pretty important

Are you the registered keeper with Porsche UK? I had a recall letter in the file that came with the car sent to the previous owner

I rang 03457 911911 and changed the owner to myself. You'll need the VIN and need to send the V5 in your name

I checked mine too and it has no open recalls on that system either!

Checked with main dealer today and my car definitely has recall outstanding.

So I would ring your dealer and get them to check

According to the Service Manager the 2019 recall affects earlier cars than mine (2007 S).

I'm enjoying it very much thanks.

I've put about 1300 miles on the car with 2 long trips and it drove well.

Its had a refurbished set of original staggered Turbo alloys fitted and a pair of new rear tyres.

Its had the recall done on the park mechanism at the local dealer.

The carpeted areas at the bottom of the rear doors are still damp/ wet which causes the car to steam up more than it should

I felt that the headlights were poor once the dark nights came so replaced the dipped and main beam lamps with brighter 5000k versions and it seems better.

Only other issue has been a low oil pressure waring that flashed up for about 5 seconds and then cleared. No sign since and all seems well with the engine, oil level etc and no leaks. I think it may have been a sensor glitch; at least I'm hoping it was.

I've also had the car machine polished which has removed many of the scratches and swirl marks in the pain. Looks really nice when clean now.

Yes the carpet is a pain. I've taken the doors cards off but you can't see much even then. Not sure how Porsche designed the drain system because water will always get past the window seals into the door. There must be something internally that drains it; but how and where I'm not sure.

No never sorted the Nav and both clocks are still not working. If you set the time they don't change, go backwards and over time they are saying different times

An update on my 2004 Turbo.

A few,weeks ago it threw a "brake proportioning fault" ABS light on and disabled. Took it to a local garage who put it on their tester which showed a sensor fault. Not a wheel sensor but a sensor on the servo. This was changed for a VAG part and fault remained.

Took the car to a local Porsche specialist. Found wiring wet in drivers side floor loom. Soldered connectors all green and corroded. All joints remade but ABS fault not resolved.

They rang specialist who advised probably ABS pump failure which gas onboard ABS ECU. Unit sent away and found to ge unrepairable so replaced with new genuine unit. ABS fault cured but £3k poorer

At the same time as the brake issue the battery started to discharge overnight. Battery is new so disconnected it and it was ok overnight so parasitic drain suspected. My local garage diagnosed that it was fuse 41 on LH side that had a 2A drain. This is KESSY ECU I believe.

Porsche specialist thought this had been resolved with wiring repairs in drivers side but it still exists if car is locked with fob, car it totally dead next morning not even a click when key is turned. If you leave car unlocked it seems ok and will start the next morning.

Thoughts anyone?

Thanks for the reply. The Porsche specialist has Porshe diagnostics and an ex main dealer technician.

So you think keyless entry door sensor is most likely to be the drain? They checked for parasitic drain and found nothing in the workshop. Could one of the door sensors "wake up" after some time maybe causing my overnight problem?

Just collected the car from the garage.

The NS front door sensor is the issue. It continually wakes up and drains the battery.

They are trying to get a new sensor from Porsche.

If that fails does anyone know what connectors (if any) can be pulled to disable this sensor without affecting other functions or failing that what wires can be cut (if any) without disabling other features and causing other issues.

Thank you; I'll see what they come back with but might ask them to take a look inside the door before any parts are ordered
as the keyless entry system does not work anyway
