If the glasgow lez goes ahead as planned my beloved allroad has to go. I was hoping to hold on to it until decent spec fast teslas were a sensible price but this bs is throwing a spanner in those works.
There isnt other a single car I really fancy over and above the allroad other than a tesla or a cayenne, so looks like a cayenne is on the cards.
By the mk2 cayenne have they sorted out the v8 nikasil issues?
I know from looking previously that the 955 non turbo v8s were a ticking timebomb, did that carry over to the 958 or is a 4.8 n/a v8 a safe choice now or should I limit my search to turbos?
Is lpg a viable proposition on the 958 turbo?
I had a go of an lpg 955 turbo and fell in love and nearly bought one until having a passenger ride in a tesla x p100d.

Ok after joinng a few groups and doing some research the 957s and 958s dont seem to suffer anywhere near as many bore scoring problems because they fitted the piston oil cooling squirter jets from the turbo to the later 4.8 normally aspirated engines. Apperently the turbos still fare slightly better in mechanical reliability of the block because the pistons are forged instead of cast. The nikasil bores supposedly havent changed much but the oil squirters make a big difference to their longevity, and forged pistons apparently have kinder thermal characteristics.

Does that sound about right?
Still fancy a turbo though if budget can stretch.
