My 2022 Cayenne GTS: 2 week/2000km review

The GTS is a different beast to my 2008 Cayenne S.
Less rugged and simple, more luxurious and of course the usual suite of electronic stuff I do not need.
Fairly complete spec, PDCC chassis control for handling,full leather, panorama roof, heated windshield, steering wheel, 18-way heated and cooled seats, Burmeister sound system, insulated glass and sound etc. Set up for towing. and of course for my Great Dane.
The sense of interior quality is very high and all surfaces are well finisihed. The twin turbo V8 is a slightly detuned version of what I have in my Panamera SY Turbo though quite differently tuned for exhaust note.
Handling is outstanding for something of this size and a couple of thousand km in the last few days left me feeling quite refreshed after long segments. I do not run in Porsches ( never have) and just get in and drive them as hard as conditions permit. It is very,very quick for an SUV and effortless and dead accurate cornering and braking. Fuel range is about 25% larger than the old car with seam sized tank.
The items that are less impressive:
(1) The whole Porsche PCM ecosystem is needlessly complex and probable designed by the CIA to prevent access. The dealer spent several hours trying to connect the thing up and eventually had to wait till they could fix something at their end. They need someone from Apple or the like to start from scratch.
(2) As always the black touch screens are covered in finger prints. There just has to be a better way.
(3) This is the SUV and not the silly coupé version but even then has less space in the back for the dog compared to the old Cayenne S. There is also less from passenger storage space in the centre console and door pockets.
Stying is fairly anonymous ( by the way , pic in a closed mall at 5.15am, not ignoring disabled parking:

I do agree with regards to the black touch screens, I have the same in the Panamera, the finger prints do get annoying! Although micro fiber cloth manufacturers must be happy..
Light coloured interiors are nice but a mixed blessing...I have had a few. I have ceramic and PPF on the exterior day 1 plus I have a protectant put in the interior leather who works superbly. The big enemy is denim which tends to leave blue marks. A friend tested the car and sure enough, blue denim on the driver's seat. Good news is that the protectant worked brilliantly and it was very easy to wipe out the stain.I do agree with regards to the black touch screens, I have the same in the Panamera, the finger prints do get annoying! Well worth getting that done then, will be peace of mind with the lighter seats.
I should really get something like that for mine, with a permanently sticky 3 year old in the back!

I have a Pana ST Turbo also but much more sober interior...Well worth getting that done then, will be peace of mind with the lighter seats.
